This is my home gym and it's been an awesome community to be a part of. The instruction really is set up to hit all ages and skill levels. Austin and Zach are great with the little ones. Wence teaches the fundamentals class and he's made for it - super patient, super knowledgeable, and just lives to teach. Diogo, the head instructor, teaches the more advanced classes if you want to take things to the next level. Diogo has a lot of competition experience and is an endless library of BJJ knowledge. Getting into BJJ was probably the best decision I made in my 20's. I was addicted from the get go, here I am 7 years deep and not much has changed. Come on in and join us on the mats!

My teens (1 boy, 1 girl) both absolutely love Rio Combat. We try to make it as often as we can. Great team of instructors and I am so happy my kids are learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Coaches are all super cool and friendly. The culture is great - no shenanigans are tolerated when it comes to safety which is good in my case as a smaller guy. Training quality is top notch. If you really want to learn jiujitsu, this is the place.

I'm going into second month at Rio Combat. As a new person to BJJ, the team here has been great. The instructors (and students) are all very welcoming and knowledgeable. It's a good workout too!

Professor Diogo and the Rio Combat Team are amazing! The instructions cover everything from moves that are easily applicable to highly technical, and everything in between, which is great for students who want to learn a wide range of skills. Professor Diogo promotes a very inviting environment while still encouraging healthy competition. Everyone highly enjoys training, which is infectious and keeps people coming to train more. With my busy schedule, I especially like how there’s several days and times to choose from for training.

RCT is a great place to train. It has a fun and welcoming environment where people help each other. There are higher belts and lower belts, so whatever your level you can find good training partners. Diogo has been training jiu jitsu for more than 25 years and he has taught me many techniques I have not seen before. He is an awesome instructor. Other black belt instructors are great as well. It is the real deal.

High level people come up and also come through this place due to the very technical knowledge available and opportunities to learn directly from the source. Professor Diogo himself trains every day in class and follows the sport deeply to understand stylistic trends and how to stay competitive. Despite that accessibility, the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. Whether you're looking to try out some grappling or make significant progress on your existing skill set, this is a great place to do so.

Great technical training for children through World class Athletes. Best BJJ training in the Bay Area!
