It's one of the best Crossfits in town, but the crowds have shown up. The coaches are great, but just overwhelmed at times.Their bootcamp is great and worth every penny.

Super disappointing experience!I have been into this Crossfit box twice, both times I stood at the entrance no one approached me and when the person who worked there (both times men) finally got it that I was new, visiting and wanted information the reception was cold, unfriendly and unprofessional. On my 2nd attempt I got some info, very vague, not welcoming at all but I got the guy to finally tell me the rates which in my opinion are astronomical, when I asked him why so much? He told me "because we can"I go to a crossfit box all the way in Pflugerville, which is hard because I live in central Austin, and work in SW Austin. I really wanted to find a gym close to home or work but I deal with the horrific traffic on I-35 every day because I tried to find out about Crossfit at both the Burnet and downtown locations of Crossfit Central. The reception was so cold, so unfriendly and unprofessional that I am grateful that they showed me their true face.I keep going to my box in Pflugerville, 6 highway exits away from where I live because they are nice, professional, warm above all welcoming. Just for that I deal with massive traffic. My box is a community, a family almost, we all care about one another, clients, coaches, headcoach/owner. Everyone is welcome and we all strive to become better athletes and attain our goals.I would hate to commit and be stuck in a place that allows staff to treat visitors and potential clients the way I was treated on both of my visits.Icing on the cake? I wrote to the owners and they never even botherd to respond. That in itself tells it all.So while Crossfit central is only 1.4 miles from my home, no thank you.Dea.

I believe this is the first CrossFit location in Austin, and by far the best. Positive atmosphere with coaches that care and teammates that help push you to the end. They have free weekend workouts at new and interesting places and often have nutrition workshops that guide you to the fittest you. If you haven't tried CrossFit before, this is a great place to start no matter your age, weight, or ability. #12DaysofChristmasATX
