It’s a good commercial gym. Internet connectivity, like the other user posted, is terrible so definitely have music downloaded on your phone. Good range of equipment and plenty of squat racks and space to deadlift. The gym is clean enough, especially for a gold’s. Peak times get a little crazy, but I usually go around lunch hours and never have to wait for equipment. Four stars just for internet connectivity issues.

Repair was executed 9/23 AC works!I have been waiting since last May 2023 to work out in the movie room. AC has been broken since then. It is now still broken and it is just a few days till August starts. Every time I ask at the desk they say it’s going to happen in a few days, but it never does. This sucks.

UPDATE: The internet issues continue to plague this gym. As my original review states, you’ll find the internet connectivity is reliable near the front desk. My word of advice: download your music playlists before you get here to workout. Still keeping 1 star rating. Also, I’ve noticed blue tape on one of the mirrors near the squat racks that has been there for weeks because one of the mirrors cracked. At this rate, I’m starting to think that will be a permanent new “decoration”, because I’ve seen no signs that it’s being attended to by maintenance staff or outside contractors. Some equipment also is difficult to adjust due to, what I presume is, rust or aging hinges. One example: The Eagle(?) chest fly / rear delt combo machine’s seat little yellow rod for the seat is so difficult to pull out without some force. The gym management should at least take a clipboard and note the state of each machine in the central area to see if things are degrading or missing weight labels / something else. And lastly: while the gym manager, Mychal, did respond to my review, he never reached out to me on the phone.I do want to state that it’s not all doom-and-gloom with this gym: it’s perfectly fine if you want to go, get a workout in, and leave. The front desk, despite what others may say, are friendly and helpful.ORIGINAL REVIEW: My 1-star rating is not due to equipment variety or the gym as a whole, but it’s due to issues with this gym’s top-level managers. This Gold’s Gym seems to consistently cycle through general managers like they’re seasonal workers. One month, you’ll have one general manager, the next, it’s someone different.Regardless, the one pattern I’ve experienced time and time again is that the gym’s general managers (not the assistant-level management) will NEVER respond to your email inquiries. EVER. They’re remarkably absent from everything. The other issue: I’ve repeatedly asked the front desk if the internet connectivity issues in this gym will be addressed. It has been almost a year since I first brought this up to their attention, and the internet is as garbage as the day I asked. You will not have a reliable internet connection near the dumbbell area. At best, maybe near the front desk is where it’s most reliable, and even there, it’s shoddy. Upgrading your internet equipment shouldn’t be such an inconvenience—LA Fitness across the road has reliably great internet everywhere in their facilities, so this lack of want to fix this issue is most definitely a deliberate choice borne of pure laziness. It’s been close to a year already, c’mon. If the current GM of this gym is reading this, please don’t reply to my review with needing to “disconnect and reconnect to the gym WiFi network and agree to the terms” nonsense. Just get your ISP to come in to fix and upgrade the internet service in the gym, please. If the issues I brought up are addressed and fixed, then I’ll readjust my rating up accordingly.

Best Golds in the area, but it’s still Globo-Gym

I canceled my membership because for 3 months they couldn't seem to get their act together and fix the sauna in the men's locker room. this is the main reason why I joined

As far as weight lifting goes, great gym. Just don’t use a bench under a vent or you’ll see the gross dirty vents 🤢 …

This gym has a special environment, amazing staff, and a beautiful community. Even if I were to move farther away, this is the gym I’d go to.

MUSIC IS WAY TOO LOUD!! This is the 4th gym I’ve been to in Austin and I’ve never experienced a gym with music this loud, unless you have noise canceling earbuds good luck trying to hear your own music, you’ll still hear their music even when yours is on max volume. For the same price of $35-40, I’d recommend the LA Fitness down the road. If you’re looking for something cheaper with even more amenities go to 24 hour fitness for only $17 a month. Above all, Fitness Connection is the best for the variety of equipment and only costing $10 a month but sadly they only have North Locations. I do not recommend Golds unless you have canceling earbuds and even then, they do not have enough benches, you won’t get one during peak hours. The saunas also do not get hot enough. The internet in the gym almost never works and there is practically zero service in there. Really disappointed for how much I pay for this place.

Good gym overall. Needs more ways to train traps, no trap bars and a lopsided trap machine only.

Great place to workout at, the personal trainers and everyone else I've met so far are very friendly and helpful, they have pretty good equipment.
