The programs and activities instructors are very professional yet personable, and offer variations of exercises for all skill levels. The facilities are always well kept and offer a great variety of exercise possibilities. Having rates that are adjusted to income level is also extremely helpful and appreciated in an area where prices just keep going up. I only pay slightly less than the standard rate, but every little bit helps!

Echoing a couple other reviews on negative interactions I’ve had with staff. It’s a shame because every other person who works at the Y has been so nice and shown great customer service.Admittedly, I was only in socks while at a squat rack and there’s a closed-toe shoe only policy at the Y. I can understand that and a simple “Sorry, but you can only wear closed-toed shoes in the strength area” said in a discrete manner would have been great. Instead, one of the trainers (Nicholas) decides to talk loudly and condescendingly about the policy, why they have it, and act very defensively when I asked a follow-up question. He’s a very big presence in the gym whenever he’s there. The facilities are also decent so I can’t let one person ruin the review for the East Communities Y when everyone else are great. Still, the Town Lake Y is a bigger and better facility with great staff too so that will be my place

The tumble class is a lot of fun for my kids. They love practicing what they are learning throughout the week and are getting stronger after only 3 sessions. Additionally, the pool is phenomenally fun!

My children just finished several weeks of swim lessons and they were awesome! They loved going and their teacher was so great. Their strokes were transformed and they are both swimming so beautifully!

Love love love e this place, but the east location is a little racist when it comes to black kids, but the Rundberg location is the best, and the workers are so sweet and caring and they love my kiddos

It is a smaller location, but the facilities are well maintained. If you are a weightlifter, you may want to find a more extensive gym. I witnessed unprofessional and disrespectful behavior from the Personal Trainer, Nicholas, on multiple occasions. Ultimately my family decided the membership was not worth it if we had to interact with an employee like that.

The interactive splash pad is amazing for the kids, however the gym and pool are not as good as town lake. Not as many options. And a bit smaller. But this YMCA is really good for kiddos

Good Y overall but the weight room area doesn’t have a ton of equipment. Outdoor lap pool and kiddie pool area. Staff is super friendly.

Located in a great spot where it is needed by many...lots of lo income in área that benifit but facility is lacking ...shower are similar to that of a homeless shelter and would be nice if the at least had doors and hair dryers like other locations. roundrock and oak claire are the best.

The staff have been wholeheartedly welcoming until a gym coach came up to me to explain the rules of having shoes and socks on condescendingly in a Karen manner. It seemed like her word goes around there and simply the tone was just not okay, ruined the vibe of my workout and decided it wasn’t worth coming to this gym, wish I got her name because all the other staff there always treated me like family
