Great workout spot, wonderful pool and sauna. Would love them to invest a bit more in things like bars and weight clamps but overall happy.Updated this review. Biggest issue recently is the gym has just become far too busy. Went today and you have to wait for any weight equipment and treadmill. Need more gyms to support this area

Worried and annoyed that several small children ages 8 or 10 were playing around the gym equipment with no adult supervision, huge liability and never allowed in any gym I’ve been to. I let the desk know and they said they would walk around. A few minutes later and the children are still climbing on the equipment like it’s a jungle gym. Hopefully no one got hurt, but this was troubling to witness. The personal trainer I got was ignorant about about building a plan and wildly ignorant about nutrition, turns out he got a degree in sociology or something, 10 years ago I remember being told that personal trainers there had master degrees in health science, obviously times have changed, the club is mid, and overpriced, might as well be at golds or 24hour for what you get here.

When looking at the cost / value this gym provides it leaves a lot to be desired. Regardless of the time of day this location is always busy and overcrowded. It’s obvious they oversold memberships with very little consideration for how current members would be impacted. You are better off going to the Arboretum location which is managed so much better.

Absolutely phenomenal place- down to earth. I’ve been a member for almost 4 years and have to say this place is really supportive of fitness goals, they’re friendly-knowledgeable-helpful-clean-and it’s a great place for the price because I have unlimited access to classes in a regular membership that would cost $1000’s of dollars a month for access to these skilled instructors and classes which I'd have to piece together across Austin if I wasn't a member here. Daily, there’s about 15 different cardio classes, 5 different yoga classes, 5 different barbell classes and various other activities, great childcare, three building levels of stuff going on. Amazing and well run classes,( to name a few), for Yoga, Barbell Strength and Cardio Kickboxing in these great huge rooms where they lower the lights a bit, put on some good tunes, and you’re working around about 30 or 40 other people with good attitudes, no judgment, and a lot of different skill levels, body weights, identities, creeds, backgrounds, and everything. The workout floor is really nice and clean with sooo much equipment and space and a friendly atmosphere. The instructors in the classes are very easy going and hard working! Being a mature woman myself, I appreciate that they give you all kinds of recommendations on how you can alter and move to make it better for you while you’re learning, but they are so fit and skilled they can thoughtfully teach the most fit youngsters too! I mean they coach you through every part of this and help ALL skill levels, I mean all.And the swimming pool! Oh my gosh there’s two of them but the outdoor pool is like a spa beach type setting! They keep it really clean. There’s outdoor and indoor saunas, private saunas in each one of the women’s and men’s locker room’s, dry sauna is super clean, restrooms and showers are kept super clean, lockers too- you cannot believe how much you'll get for the price. And it’s a beautiful beautiful club!Faizon & Jennifer keep this place running like clockwork, of course, there are many parts to a clock and you’ve got to include everybody else that keeps the place running, classes going and keeping it clean, tidy, and friendly. I mean, this place is really awesome. No joke. Jeanne, Beth and Kelly,(and that’s just to name a few of the instructors) that are soooo great. Everybody else is too though. I started my fitness journey really slow but they certainly are motivating- every class I attend there is really awesome. I seriously can’t say enough good things about this place. I started out going to two classes a week now I’m there five days a week, and I’ve never been in better shape in my life! I zip in and out. It’s a good place, with good people, and good clients.

Basketball court is actually a kids area 75% of the time (all locations). Crayons and tape left all over when they leave. Execs/shareholders need that kids camp money so bad that they just tell the basketball players to F off 4 months of the year. Stock price lookin good though guys👍 …

Lifetime South is an exceptional gym that I highly recommend. The facility is top-notch, with state-of-the-art equipment and a variety of fitness options for all levels. The staff is knowledgeable, supportive, and creates a welcoming community. The amenities, like luxurious locker rooms and spa services, add to the overall experience. The group classes are engaging and led by passionate instructors. For a remarkable fitness journey, choose Lifetime South.

THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO PLAY BASKETBALL ANYMORE. Better grab an ascot and sweater vest to go with your pickle ball racket. Genuinely a bummer. When I started going to lifetime the sell was it’s amenities for me as well as its hours. Losing 24hrs is understandable since Covid, but the worst part about the current version of both Lifetime gyms in Austin is the blatantly obvious move to more or less remove the basketball courts as well as the “basketball players”. All gyms used to have two open basketball courts but now pickle ball has taken over 1 court, and they (very frustrating) use the other basketball court as a daycare now. There is probably about a 3 hour time window you have to play basketball here. It sucks. And to be honest it feels like some kind of weird passive aggressive class warfare to get “certain” people out of the gym. This gym costs way too much for half the things here not to be available. I just find it odd because lifetime used to be the best place to play basketball and they are very obviously trying to move away from making “certain people” comfortable here. It’s not a country club, it’s a gym. Go back to being a good gym.

New member, very average experience so far.1. They sold too many memberships.2. Please cut down the class schedule. Good luck trying to use a squat rack. There is almost never a time when half the equipment isn't closed off for a class. I joined the gym so I could use the equipment, not to watch others do it behind a class schedule.3. No sauna or steam room etiquette at all. Please post guidelines; no exercising in the sauna, no fully clothed 45 second warm ups that constantly leave the door open and let all the heat escape.Great facilities and nice staff, but they have terrible execution in areas.

Bianca has been wonderful. She’s one of the operations facilities, supervisors, and she helps kind of clean out the women’s area and she’s phenomenal! I left my stuff in a locker and she made sure it was OK. I know that’s not standard procedure, but I was in the hospital and how sweet of her!! Think a lot of this club as a result of her behavior

I had a membership when the gym was newly opened and loved it! Stopped going because of cost. Signed back up about a year or so ago but have barely been because it’s always crowded. Doesn’t matter what time of day you go there’s a lot of people there. You can get lucky on a rare occasion late at night or after lunch rush/before evening rush. I’ve kept my membership for the benefit of being able to go to other Life Times across the nation. Though I reconsider this everyday, if it were as easy as a click of a button I probably would’ve canceled a long time ago.I use my Planet Fitness membership way more than I do Life Time. While it’s not nearly as nice with all the amenities, it’s just as good if all you’re trying to do is get a decent weight training session in. In this regard, Planet Fitness has surpassed Life Time in convenience, accessibility, and at a fraction of the cost.To sum it up, this Life Time is a great family place. Highly geared towards those with children and the conveniences a family would need. I don’t play pickle ball or basketball but the facility had a much better air about it before they turned a basketball court into pickle ball.I hear the 620 location is wonderful! Might be worth the drive.
