Ro fitness offers really outstanding classes. I have attended indoor rowing classes in California that can’t compare to the experience at Ro Fitness. I love these classes. They are well structured to give you a fun and well structured experience with very knowledgeable instructors.

Ro Fitness has changed my life !!! The owner Chelsey is amazing and has an awesome company. The classes are fabulous especially at the downtown Trinity location where you row on the balcony with the perfect view of the water. It’s a combination of mind and body work out perfect for anyone. It’s an absolute must !!! Try it today, you’re going to love it !!!

I’ve been going to Ro (both Tarrytown and Downtown) for a few weeks and love it! I’ve really been enjoying learning a new sport, moving your body differently and wrapping your mind around minutes and meters and strokes and math and numbers. It’s something that I’m still getting the hang of and learning, and just need more practice. It’s a great workout whether you’re doing a Long and Lo class or a Cardio Ro class. Ro offers different classes and two locations and the instructors are really nice! It’s only competitive with yourself so you don’t have to feel self conscious about your ability or compare yourself to the others in the class. Love it!

Ro is the best workout. Joined about 4 months ago and it has improved my athletic performance so much. I look better and feel better. If you’re up for the work, I would put this up against any other workout in the market.

Updated June 25, 2023The instructors, classes, and equipment are all great! This studio offers (rowing only) classes, and combo classes that mix cardio rowing with full body strength training off the rowing machine. Both class types provide great workouts. There are two locations. The Tarrytown location is in a retail center with awesome air conditioning and free parking. The downtown location is at the Waller Creek Boathouse at the end of Trinity Street. Unless that weather is extreme, classes are held outdoors in the boathouse balcony overlooking Lady Bird Lake.Things I really like about this studio:The classes are small enough for the instructors to help everyone with proper form during every set as needed. They also give individual motivation to help you get the most effective workout. There is a friendly personal interaction between the instructors and the class and between class members. Every instructor runs class efficiently, but with a fun and relaxed mood. The workouts are interval based with a good mixture of high intensity (power) intervals, active recovery and short rest periods between the more intense sets. For intervals that are at specific stroke rates, the instructors row at the front of the class. This really helps keep the class in sync and keeps the focus on proper form. During the intervals that are at a open pace (sprinting), the instructors walk the class giving technique corrections and positive motivation to work hard. They also make effective use of music to motivate the class to high levels of effort. The classes have weekly focus that changes each week and repeat every four weeks. Within the weekly focus the structure of the workout changes each day. Even though you are obviously rowing during every class, the structure has plenty of variety and challenges to keep it interesting.Bring a towel and a water bottle and you will be ready to row. Filtered water is available to fill your bottle.

Overall a great fitness program with two diverse locations, good hours, and excellent instructors that consistently run diverse workouts and maintain high standards of quality instruction and stay on schedule. I highly recommend the free intro class and then get an intro 3 package to decide if the program is for you. Its great physical exercise for men and women of all ages and levels of fitness. I had used rowing machines in the past but the instruction is great to maximizing your workout, improving form efficiency, and motivation.

Rō Fitness has great instructors. The instructors will help with proper form if you have never used a rowing machine before and will help fine tune your form if you are already comfortable on the machine. The community is welcoming, and it’s a challenging, competitive workout but accessible because you compete against yourself. It’s a great way to get your cardio in without the intimidating atmosphere of clubby spin classes. The Terrytown location has ample parking.
