I have been a member of Merritt Club at White Marsh before it was built. Both myself and my family have had being wonderful years as members. We especially enjoyed spending every weekend at the pool with family and friends. Merritt Clubs are pricey but I always thought you get what you pay for. Things have definitely changed over the years and during this pandemic things have been crazy. Many pools rules were made but never enforced like wearing masks while walking on the deck, clearing the deck on weekends between sessions etc. This past weekend all the usual Decks Managers like Kate were on vacation. From the start of the day the deck manager at the check in desk was turning families away left and right. Many upset customers. A couple walked out of the gym in workout clothes and she ran up to them and told them they can't be on the pool deck. Their response was we only wanted to take a picture. I had my granddaughter while my son in law was working out. I called my son and told him my granddaughter was hungry. She came out to his truck and passed me her lunch box over the fence. Within seconds the deck manager was 2 inches from my face ( mask or no mask) Telling me that she saw me past contraband over the fence. My husband got very upset with how she talked to me. An argument between three staff members and my husband ensued. After threatening to call the police they did. We talked to the officer he took our statement and just said they was you to leave for the rest of the day. After leaving the aquatic manager called us and stated his employees, all agreed on what happened and it my husband's fault for getting mad. He never asked our side of the story. I told him that I have 6 people that will tell you that was not what happened. He was very unprofessional. He said my husband called him back and hung up. Again not true, when we were done with the conversation, I put the phone in my purse. If the phone accidentally dialed I am sorry. My husband them asked for a COVID test since the employees did not respect the 6ft distance rule. My husband just got diagnosed as Diabetic and is at a higher risk. The manager did not read the text and responded that if we came to the pool sick it was irresponsible of us etc.. He then responded with many grammatical errors and slang. This is not the conduct of a manager. I am disgusted and appalled with the treatment by the Merritt Staff. I am so saddened by this but all my all my friends have decided to ride out the summer and enjoy a different pool next year.

This gym would be awesome if it didn’t let kids run around and use equipment. It’s honestly dangerous if they get hurt. Many people come after work and to have children just sitting around using machines is extremely annoying. I come after work to blow off steam, and have to wait for a kid to stop fooling around on serious machinery. If this changed I would give five stars but it’s just getting worse.

Great job Merritt, they have reopened from Covid 19 and they are spot on. The new standards for outdoor swim areas is very impressive. I was greeted by a helpful friendly staff member. Everything was explained in detail. I saw cleaning/ sanitizing being done, everyone has to leave at a certain time, hoses, buckets, brushes come out and an additional deep cleaning is done. The gym area is sanitized, members are staying at least 6 feet away from each other. Mask are being worn. Merritt - you should be proud, great informed staff delivered with kindness.

Great gym. Who ever came up with idea of a theater room in a gym is the kind of genius you want planning everything. Gym is always clean, staff very friendly.

This gym is pricey, but I think it is totally worth it. We love having access to the Kids Club. The Kids Club staff are amazing, which makes me feel way less guilty when I drop off my little guy while I work out.My only complaint is that the bathrooms (both indoor and outdoor bathrooms) are often destroyed during pool season. I am sure it is hard to keep up given how popular the pool is, but given the price I am paying, I think having high expectations is reasonable.

Great gym if you like working out in a daycare center. This gym has great equipment, great classes, very clean but atmosphere is that of a daycare center. Constant loud noise from kids screaming. Merritt runs a kids camp right in the gym breaking their own rules that one must be 16 to be on gym floor. Kid's Camp supervisors are with them but not keeping them off equipment unless you step to them. I should not have to enforce these rules. Cardio Theater fine if you want to watch animated kids movies with childrenout of control on treadmills wearing filp flops ! Forget using the pool in summer. Packed with screaming children. This place cost a lot of money and I guess worth it if you have a bunch of kids but atmosphere to me is horrible. Merritt needs to decide if it's a gym or daycare center.

I love this gym! It’s never crowded where you can’t find a piece of equipment or weights to work with. The classes are all great, esp the cycling. And the kids club is great and keeps my kids entertained. The pool is also amazing and where we plan to spend all summer. The restaurant and bar area is perfect during the pool season to grab drinks and lunch or dinner without having to leave and come back or bring your own food/snacks in. And the menu is extensive so there’s plenty of things my family will eat. There’s also kids classes offered as well. My daughter did dance classes and just had her recital and the program did a really excellent job with it all

Had my son's birthday party here and it was literally the worst experience! they put us out of the pool because airplanes were flying by and they said it was thunder yet none of the life guards were on the same page about it. they didn't reimburse me for the hour they closed down the pool during my party and rushed all of my guests out of the gym even though they took an hour from my son's party for NOTHING. then they were rude about it and harassed my party. i was the last party of the night sothey could've allowed us to stay considering they took time from us.today my little brother had his party there and someone let their child poop in the pool and they didn't even call my mother to notify her that they shut down the pool and when my mother asked them why they didn't at least call her and give her a heads up , they laughed in her face and told her she can just reschedule or they can refund her 30 minutes before the party started and before guests arrived. it's very inconsiderate and ignorant for you to laugh in someone's face when you're doing business with someone and when we spend a lot of money to be members at this gym. not to mention they couldn't even give a courtesy call to let us know what was going on. their staff members are very rude and condescending individuals and i do not appreciate it. i have already cancelled my membership and will never get another membership to this gym and it sucks because my son loves it here. they need better people employed there. they charge too much money for the membership for their employees to treat people the way they do.

This gym has everything to offer, from classes, training , daycare, exercise classes for the kids , pool with slides and even a restaurant in there. Its a little pricey but if your are looking for all the amenities above, this place would fit you. The customer service is good at the front desk. Except this one seasoned person. The gym is nicely kept cleaned.

As a long time member of Merritt Canton - I wanted to check out this club pool since I will be moving to Baltimore county soon. The pool is very large, I like that they also provide towels like the canton club so you don’t have to worry about your own. The lap lanes are a nice offering if you are into that. My two star review, however comes from the lack of peace and relaxation available here. Even though the children’s pool areas (there are at least 3 different pool areas for kids) are awesome- with slides, splash pads, fountains, etc, kids are still allowed on the other side which would seem like more so an adult pool. I attempted to read a book in the water and had to leave the pool due to being splashed so many times within a 5 minute period. I’m not sure why kids are allowed to literally take over every corner of the pool, but the open space near the lap lanes should be reserved for adults only in my opinion. Sometimes you just don’t want a screaming child in your ear, a wet ball being thrown across your face, or a cannonball being landed next to you. Please consider designating the leftover corner of the lap lane pool for adults only. There is enough space for kids available already...take notes from the Canton club where kids are not allowed to be in the separate adult pool.
