Good evening! I have several unaddressed concerns, if I may.I am displeased that our monthly rate has remained the same but:1. Merrit gym hours have been reduced for many months now. To hear that "Oh, we are working to restore our normal operations is a woefully inadequate refrain, again esp after hearing this for months and months. Other gyms are indeed back to 24/7.2. Reduced amenities, such as no towel service, less equipment available, again for many months...3. Merrit employees (while friendly and cordial) spray down every piece of equipment starting around 915pm (closing time 10pm) with a phenol disenfectant. Often times, they spray/soak the equipment right next to the peice of equipment that you are using, and then walk away. This is a poor practice, as this phenol spray/odor lingers, is a lung irritant, and this mist should NOT be inhaled. In fact, when employees spraying down equipment in one side of the gym, I can smell the noxoius fumes way on the other side. A few times, the air was so saturated with phenol disenfectant, I could smell it on my mask 2 days later. When I questioned the employees on the timeliness of this practice, they advised "Well, we do it now close to closing time, otherwise we would have to shut down the gym 1 hr early to do this. So may I ask, Merrit is prioritizing potential employee overtime over member safety? Sure looks that way, dosent it...?As a RN, I can tell you with all certianty that phenol is corrosive and should not be inhaled, and when doing strenous cardio/aerobic exercise your members are breathing hard and rapidly, doing exactly that! And all the while your staff is spraying/soaking down cardio equipment! This is a most dangerous, undesirable practice I feel.4. These concerns were illuminated to Merrit via email, to which a lady named DIane replied, and she advised that a manager would reach out to me...This was 12/10/20. We are 2+ months later and still no response. Perhaps the Merrit manager feels that I will just get used to the phenol spray and my lungs wont mind...?And pls dont tell me that "Oh, someone will be reaching out to me soon to address my concerns..." May I say again, politely but firmly, this is woefully inadequate at this point. I am asking you, as the 'concerned' owner, to handle this and show me that I am a valued member! In closing, please remember that Merrit Gyms exist because of the members...It is obvious that you are hemmoraging members....But I remain loyal, I workout 4-5x a week, and pay for my fiance also, who rarely works out anymore. As a former Bally Total Fitness employee of 15+ years, I have seen when can happen when members are mistreated, ignored, and taken for granted. As you can see, even a corporation that had 350+ gyms/affiliates nationwide can disappear when its members are mistreated. In case you are unaware, the last Bally Total Fitness Center closed down about 2 years ago in NYC. You have my name, I am quite certain that you can reach out to me. Thank you for your time Sir.

I love this place and join every summer to enjoy the pool... when I joined this year they gave me 5 VIP one week guest passes... Me and my 2 daughters (one of which is on my membership and the other was going to use one of my 1-week passes) were going to go to the pool ..... But when we got there we were told that the guest passes can't be used on the weekend..... Hmmm..... How do we have a one week pass, but can't use it on the weekend?? A week is going to include a weekend no matter what, right??.... So as a member, my guest passes they give me aren't any different than what somebody can get walking in off the street and asking for a guest pass? So are they going to give you 7 days? In that case, the pass would last more than a week though..... It's kinda bordering on false advertising.....

Club is awesome, but having some drunk dude smoking a cig right outside of the entrance was kind of disappointing. I'm surprised there are no smoking signs up around the club, especially with the amount of fitness minded people and kids that are here.

The staff is always attentive (willing to help) and friendly. All areas including the restroom are kept clean. And the pool is my fav! Spacious and available! Looking forward to trying their food when my schedule allows. Thank you Merritt

First time back in over a year. Post covid. Bright and clean as always. But way to many people not wearing a mask. I was the only one besides the employee there. Not cool. I got there at 430am and by 530 there were just too many mask less people for my comfort. It was good to go back though.

I joined one month ago and this gym is fabulous. It’s sparking clean, the staff is wonderful, and the service is great. There’s nothing to complain about. This is definitely the best gym in town. 10/10 recommend.

I know the price is steep especially if you are used to the whole $10 a month thing but it is worth it! I actually really love coming to this gym. It's the first time I haven't felt judged coming to the gym. Me and my son come together. Brian Rice that teaches aqua zumba makes you feel so included and makes you want to come back. 100% recommend.
