I cannot say enough great things about Jeff and the team at Bellingham BJJ! The facilities were spacious and clean (I love the separate mat spaces!) and Jeff and everyone at the gym were so accommodating and welcoming. I reached out to Jeff when I was in Bellingham for 2 weeks for work and he let me drop in for classes and open mats, and this is definitely a gym for everyone. The instruction was on point, and I am still using some of the gi set ups and chokes in competition that I learned here in that short time. I love the curriculum based approach and focus on everything (guard set ups, takedowns, grips, etc.). If you live anywhere near the Bellingham area, THIS is the gym to go to hands down. Jeff was fantastic in his communication and response time, and I am so glad I was able to find this gym on my Jiu-Jitsu journey!

I can't speak highly enough about this place. For someone who is new to Jiu Jitsu this academy and everyone in it has been so helpful, patient, and generous. I feel fortunate that I get the opportunity to train with such amazing individuals!

I’ve been part of several BJJ gyms since 2013. In most cases, you have to pick between training quality and gym culture. At Bellingham BJJ you get both. Glad this place exists.

I spent my first few months in BJJ here, and I couldn’t have had a better experience. Everyone has a great attitude for learning, and for being patient with newbies like me. There is something to learn from everyone here. Jeff Shaw is the best instructor you could ask for, kind, knowledgeable, and patient. I really don’t have a bad thing to say about this place. I cannot recommend the intro class enough. My only regret was waiting to start when I did. If you’re on the fence, do it. It’s worth it!
