Fluid Strength is more than a gym. It is an incredible place to train one’s body, discipline one’s mind, set new goals, learn new skills, and play!Tash Anderson, the owner of Fluid Strength, is well-organized, clean, timely, responsive to inquiries, forward-thinking, innovative, and utilizes her small space well. Her programming for progressive strength gains is second-to-none! She programs each group session into purposeful blocks. In her Strength for Longevity (SFL) classes, she first programs a prime and mobilize section with a warm-up that targets the actual muscles we will be using and skills we will be practicing. It feels nothing like gyms that have clients just move around mindlessly and randomly to warm up; there is a reason “why” we practice every movement. We continuously learn new skills while playing in PE fashion with floor ladders, obstacle courses, plastic steps, Kali sticks, maces, gymnastic rings, Indian clubs, bands, Yoga blocks, medicine balls, sandbags, gliders, sleds, orange cones, dice… We balance, activate muscle groups, and practice Original Strength movements such as head nodding, rocking, rolling, crawling, and diaphragmatic breathing. The movements are woven with physical therapy elements but are so much more fun in this setting. The activities are restorative and help us become more supple. During section two of Tash’s programming for SFL classes, we build strength and learn with Kettlebells and Barbells in the style of the StrongFirst methodology. Between every strength exercise, we perform intentional resets. We finish in training segment three of SFL with a burst of conditioning or fun Kettlebell sequences.Tanner Brown, my primary trainer, is phenomenal! I’ve never met a more intuitive trainer who has the energy, care, knowledge, and perception to help people progress and master movements. He is so skilled at customizing movements that every small group class still feels personalized to meet the needs of every individual in the room. He quickly analyzes what would help a person improve during each movement, whether it is timing, speed (“Slow is smooth, smooth is fast”), sequencing, body positioning, muscle engagement, form, hand grip, and breathwork (timing and length of inhales and exhales). He conveys his insights and information in a clear and logical way, coaching us with lively, hands-on demonstrations we can imitate. Tanner is incredibly thorough and breaks down every step of complex movements (such as Turkish get-ups) until each portion becomes attainable, and the mind-body patterning becomes instilled in us. Tanner knows just when to push a person to dig in and work harder and when to instruct someone to go lighter, slower, take a rest, reset, or take a few slow deep nasal breaths. Tanner’s wealth of knowledge, understanding of movement, continuous quest to better himself and others, and dedication to this field ensures we learn something new every class. He patiently answers every question (and I’ve asked him about 975 of them). As an adult out of the school classroom setting, it is difficult to find people who make me better and give constructive criticism; Tanner does both well. And even though we work hard mentally and physically while dripping sweat, through his sense of humor, playful approach and fun spirit, Tanner ensures we always enjoy the work we are doing at Fluid Strength. As he says, “If we aren’t having fun, what are we doing?!”Every facet of Tash and Tanner’s conscious training approach transfers into everyday living and hobbies. We vary movements as we pull, push/ press, carry, hinge, squat, lunge, and crawl. Gripping heavy grocery bags, carrying garden bulk potting mixes, putting overhead luggage into airplane bins, mountain biking, skiing, backpacking, climbing, scrambling up rocks, paddle boarding, moving heavy pieces of furniture, carrying kids, and nearly all daily movements have a correlation to what we practice at Fluid Strength. I am so grateful to my favorite coaches, Tash and Tanner, for this extraordinary experience they crafted!

Tash and Tanner are two of the best trainers I've ever known! Their level of knowledge, ability to communicate detailed instruction, and their correction of form is impeccable. The classes are the perfect size for individualized attention at any level, and the workout structure is carefully thought out. Fluid Strength is more than just a "gym", it is community with incredible people who motivate and support each other and THAT is the icing on the cake. Thank you Tash and Tanner (and the community of FS)! You've helped me to feel stronger, wiser, and more confident in my daily life. I look forward to both the work out and to see my "friends" there who keep me accountable!

I have loved my experience at Fluid Strength. My chiropractor Patrick Prentice, referred me to their program. I started with a few private sessions and now am taking weekly classes. The online booking is simple to navigate & I love everything I’m learning with the great coaches.

The community, the coaches, and the workouts at Fluid Strength are truly life changing. I started taking classes when I lived in Bend and then moved to Redmond. I cancelled my membership, thinking I'd find something closer to home. After just a few months, I was back going to Fluid Strength at least twice a week. It's such a different environment than other gyms and the programming is so wonderfully planned. I feel myself getting stronger, more mobile, more confident, and having so much fun while working out.

I have been working out with Tash and Tanner at Fluid Strength for 6 months now and have absolutely loved it. I have enjoyed the personalized approach in the Strength for Longevity classes. And I have improved multiple strength movements, especially the ones that previously hurt my lower back after a herniated disc a couple of years ago. They really focus on correct movement patterns for long term strength and mobility, which is my goal. These classes complement my trail running, mountain biking, and snowboarding so I can enjoy all Bend has to offer.

Tash at Fluid Strength has helped me in so many different stages of my health journey. From someone who had never picked up a kettlebell, to pregnancy & postpartum, she is always supporting me in any season of life and was ready to help modify and check in on my progress. I am so thankful for her expertise in the field as well as her genuine desire to help improve others health by movement. I learn something new from her every time I am in class. So much love for Tash & Tanner!

They are educated, dedicated to the process and always furthering their knowledge and expertise. I love a trainer that embraces the learning process with their clients. It's also tons of fun!!

Tash and Tanner are the real deal! If you want to improve strength, mobility and have fun, Fluid Strength rocks.I started working out here because I was stuck in a cycle, that cycle was that the more I workout, the more my hips hurt.As a lifelong fitness enthusiast, eventually, things like sciatica, psoas and etc muscles get shortened and tight, the pain is real and I'm some people reading this know what I mean!Anyhow, after now more than a year, I'm very pain free and have improved my strength in many important movements, squats, cleans, dead lifts, turkish getups, sled drags, farmer carries etc. I can confidently (an d repeatedly) clean a 24kg kettle bell and can do clean doubles in the 16-20kg range, big improvements from where I was at.Tash & Tanner brim with passion for fitness and know how to give useful feedback, the monthly sequenced programs feel like genius, you will grow, have fun and time will just pass, a textbook example of the "Flow" state. My wife recently had a baby and has now started private session with Tash, needless to say I recommend Fluid Strength for anyone serious about strength and fun.Be Water My Friends!
