RE has given my girls an incredible cheer experience but also the conditioning to excel in other sports like XC and track.

My daughter is in her fourth year at RE. The staff at the gym have been so welcoming and wonderful! I felt intimidated going into travel Allstar cheer, but Angie has done a phenomenal job with communicating and organization. My daughter has loved every bit of her time at the gym and has come out of her shell quite a bit. It’s also been a bonding experience for us as mother and daughter: the long weekends traveling out of town, the emotions surrounding competitions, the time doing hair and makeup together, and I’ll never forget all the times standing in front of the stage cheering her on as she puts her heart into something she loves. If you are considering this sport/gym for your kid, I encourage you to go for it! I’m sure you will love it as we have.

We have been with Royalty Elite since they opened their doors in 2018! My children have made life long friends from this gym & it really feels like a second family to us! My oldest has grown her tumbling skills throughout the years & continues to improve!

When my daughter started RE, she had zero experience with anything cheer related. In little over a year she and our family have received so much support and she is progressing like crazy. She has made lifelong memories and friends who are like family.

You can do better: There aren’t many options in Bloomington for competitive cheer, but you’d be much better off driving a short distance somewhere else than to put your daughter at risk of the social manipulation and underhanded tactics used by Royalty Elite Cheer. This gym has really gone downhill. My daughter started doing competitive cheer at Royalty Elite a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Since then, many of the good coaches have left and the atmosphere at the gym has become increasingly toxic as they've brought in a coach that seems to care more about establishing a power dynamic than motivating and building young athletes. The coaches regularly pit the girls against each other and the owner is ethically defunct and seems to only care about collecting your money. All parents are expected to follow an official “parent handbook” that they sign at the beginning of the season. The gym owner then proceeds to change that handbook throughout the season as she sees fit (after she has your money of course). Anyone considering going to this gym should know that the latest Royalty Elite policy change states, "Should an athlete quit or be dismissed from Royalty Elite’s competitive cheer program with or without cause prior to April 30, 2023, there will be no refunds or prorating of any tuition, uniform package, makeup package, practice wear package, or cheer fees, and all monies owed to Royalty Elite for the entire 2022‐2023 Season will continue to be made in a timely manner until payment is made in full as indicated. Should an athlete quit or be dismissed from Royalty Elite’s competitive cheer program with or without cause prior to April 30, 2023, no items paid for and not yet received will be distributed to the athlete." I cannot comment on the legality of this policy, but if you sign up with them, just know that they believe that they can dismiss your athlete for any reason whatsoever, keep all of your money, and not provide you any of the items that you paid for. If you do make the unwise decision of going to this gym, make sure that you DO NOT PAY UP-FRONT! Our Royalty Elite experience ended when my daughter was kicked off the team by the Royalty Elite coaches and blocked from all gym communications by the owner when she was injured and my wife asked the gym if they could allow her to do a less physically demanding part of the routine (but equivalent to what most of the other girls on the team were asked to do) in order to accommodate her injury. When asked about refunding the remaining portion of my pre-paid fees (since they kicked us out and we didn't leave on our own accord), they refused that as well, citing the policy above. In the end, it was not a good experience and, while this gym will preach about how much they care about and support these girls, they don't do it in practice. In hindsight, I'm glad we were booted when we were - rather than risk further injury at the hands of irresponsible coaches - but what they did was very cruel (to a 14yo girl) and I do feel people need to know the risks they are taking prior to joining this gym.Additional important notes: 1) Almost half of the 5-star reviews in Google are from employees. The owner and owner’s daughter also decided to submit their own 5-star reviews. 2) If you’re worried about commuting somewhere else (Bedford or Plainfield), there are A LOT OF Bloomington families who have left RE because of the toxic environment there and literally every other gym in surrounding towns (Bedford and Plainfield) now has people you can commute with! It’s easier than ever to go to a gym that fosters a positive environment where they will treat your daughter with respect (rather than a dollar-sign), build her confidence (rather than demean and tear her down), and teach good cheer technique! Good luck!

Working 4 years here was one of the best decisions I ever made. I met so many amazing athletes who had a passion for the sport. I also met so many passionate coaches who put so much of their personal time, effort and energy into making sure those athletes have the best experience and grow as athletes and people. I have so much love for the RE fam and can’t wait to continue watching them to grow ❤️

0/10 wouldn't recommend! We started here with my 2 girls when the gym first started and we were with them for 4 years straight heading to our 5th season when a certain coach looked at my daughter and said she wasn't a good cheerleader and she was the weakest link and not a good flyer we decided it was time to leave. It was wonderful for the first 2 years but one of the best coaches left when this unnamed coach began she broke my daughters spirit to the point she didn't want to cheer anymore. Also, if you decide to leave they cut all ties with you and your family even tho you were RE's biggest supporters. I've contemplated leaving a review due to the fact we left quietly on our terms. Even if the season hasn't began they will take a "quitting fee" of $400 dollars without authorization. We considered the owner as a friend but we realized it was just business. Even after all said I wish them well and best decision we ever made leaving a demoralizing environment to my kids. Also when your child has 9 heart defects and is medically unable to base due to her heart and they make her base we were concerned of her safety. We wanted to let her cheer because she loved it and we loved watching her cheer but when she lost that desire and being "bullied" by an adult that was it.

This is my daughters second year at Royalty Elite and she absolutely loves this gym and all of the coaches. Her tumbling (as well as everything else) has improved a ton since we started at this gym and I couldn’t be happier for her! They truly care about each and every athlete there. We highly recommend!
