Our son (almost 6 y.o. 1st-time) loved the Peace Samurai summer camp.We were very impressed with sensei Abel and his program. Not just a play camp (though there was plenty), they discussed a positive virtue each day (e.g. respect, benevolence, …), learned to check their awareness & breath on top of the physical practices.Very welcoming and appropriate for 1st-timers. So glad we found this. And, looking forward to parent/child class in the fall.

Incredible experience for all ages at One Dojo! Abel is as knowledgeable, centered, and compassionate as they come. A focused and disciplined Sensei, who leads with his heart, makes learning fun, and is supportive for all age and skill levels. Learn Aikido with him, you’ll be so glad you did.

My daughter and I recently started Aikido at Boulder Ki Aikido, and we’ve been having a wonderful experience. With superb instructors (who are attentive and seasoned), a spacious and elegant dojo, and an easy check-in app, Boulder Ki Aikido is the perfect place to learn Aikido. As a new practitioner, but with other martial arts and fitness prior experiences, I found Aikido to be an excellent combination of breathing, focus, posture, physical ability, control, and self defense—and BKA’s instructors emphasize each of these elements. The teen class is perfect for my daughter; she feels comfortable and welcome in it. Finally, the measures they have in place regarding the pandemic are strong, making us feel safe while we add the awesome benefits of Aikido to our living.

My son loves this dojo, the practice, and the sensei. We were looking for something that would give him the opportunity to focus his energy, challenge his physicality and coordination, as well as boost his confidence, Boulder Ki Aikido has done all of this and more!

I highly recommend Abel-Sensei and the One Dojo. Sensei's presence and approach to teaching mindfulness and unification of mind and body are respectful and of the highest quality - regardless of age or ability. In my opinion the teachings here are the truest form of Martial Arts.

I did Aikido in college and for my oldest child it was obvious he needed to engage in a martial art - but as a boy I needed it to be about focus, movement of aggression and letting go. Not how strong am I but more about - what are my inner strengths. These are the founding principles of Aikido. That’s why we came here and I’ve been nothing but very impressed and grateful since. My child has a home here with a community and a place to work on energetics of emotion and moving with it. He has friends he goes to hang out with outside his school community and that’s really important for young kids to learn to reach beyond what is just in the immediate. This kind of community is vital to any child, or especially as they grow up and transition to tween-hood then teen-hood. Those transitions are honored and recognized in a healthy way in this community. Most importantly in a world full of intensity, this dojo gives a place to work with intensity, outer and inner. It welcomes transformation and communication. It being dialogue and helps create discipline to be the best of all you are in a kind and soft way. It shows force is soft too.If you have a child who needs a place to develop inner confidence a sense of self and non-violent communication - this is it.There are times I share what’s happening for my child in their school with life or siblings and the teachers can help them process it on the mat. This is invaluable.Do not hesitate to try it out.

Love this place sensei Abel is the most patient person with the kids and can teach both the adults and kids simultaneously. His ability to calm the kids and teach is superior. Our daughter loves the class and we go as a family. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

I joined Boulder Ki Aikido Dojo with my 7 year old daughter last year. Sensei Abel is awesome, very child friendly. She is always excited to go to the dojo, she looks forward to Saturdays when she can practice. Ki Aikido teaches self defense without aggression and with mindfulness

Our son has been taking private Aikido training with sensei Abel, in addition to participating in group lessons. Both private and group lessons have been good experiences. The private lessons, however, have been amazing. Sensei Abel is very encouraging and teaches important life skills. He is helping our son build confidence, stretch himself mentally and physically, and find his inner strengths.

This has been a wonderful experience for our son. He has grown exponentially and on many levels. Sensai Abel is kind, patient, heart-centered and skilled, committed teacher.
