Leonhard Recreation Center, located in Centennial Park, Champaign, offers a cheap yet comprehensive gym experience. The facility includes a small workout room with well-maintained equipment, three pickleball courts, a walking track, and open gym access. The staff is friendly, and the center is always clean. They also host various activities and events. However, the center closes early on Fridays at 6 PM, and some may find the atmosphere too quiet. The annual membership fee of $80 makes it affordable.

This isn’t a recreation center. It’s a glorified day care center. There’s always some bulls**t going on in the gym.

Great pickleball courts (3) open to public from 6 am to late afternoon.

Decent facility for what it is, but they close at 6 PM on Fridays. By the time you arrive there after work, they are closing: not ideal.

Took the grandsons to check out the facilities. Walked on the track and used some equipment in the weight room. The facilities are great.

I went to the One Week Boutique event recently @ the center. The large space was easy to get around, prices and sizes etc were well marked. Numerous guides and helpers were terrific @ helping you find things. Check out and bagging was extremely efficient.Well organized event.Parking spaces were handy, close to the building & handicap spaces available.

Rented the party area for my fiance's god daughter's birthday. It was absolutely perfect! Clean, fun, private for our little party. Loved the play place for the toddlers. I, 5'9 268lbs, was able to crawl through it with ease and not have to worry about it falling apart. My almost 3 year old wanted me to follow him. Highly recommend if you want to have a cute party for your babies. I forgot my drinks in the fridge unfortunately 😅 but aside from that, 5 stars!

Love the walking track and the fitness machine room! I also take yoga and cize classes here. The staff is wonderful and helpful. Everything is very clean and the price can’t be beat! Convenient location if you’re in southwest Champaign.

If you're just looking for a place to walk/jog indoors, then the Leonhard Center is the place for you. Their annual membership rate is much cheaper than the YMCA. There's also a small workout room with treadmills, elliptical machines and free weights if that's your thing too. Then of course there's open gym if you feel like shooting some hoops. Lockers are available in the locker rooms, you just have to bring your own lock and you can't leave stuff there overnight.

Great place to start working out, especially if you've been out of shape or is a beginner. At $80 a year the price is really nothing compared to the gyms around. It's got a nice small track and all the equipment and cleanliness is well maintained. The only downside is that as you get more advanced in your weight training you will max out the weights in certain exercises, but the price is really unbeatable.

It was quite a great experience, having a weight room, basketball court, and upstairs walking track. The only thing that I don't like about it is how lonely it is in there. Almost nobody is there anymore and it just doesn't feel right.
