the good news: has just about everything in the gym except a deadlift platform, no cameras = minimal nonsense from other patrons, pool's beautiful, sauna's lovely. (some caveats follow) eventually that discount on swimming lessons will pay dividends.the bad news: no cold showers (have asked about this multiple times, apparently the prison button showers set to "hot but not quite hot enough" are the only option that will ever be available for reasons that may forever remain opaque) plus a sizable contingent of members who struggle with the very simple sauna policies. (no shoes, no fragrances/oils.)it's odd/unpleasant to pay as much money as i do (both more expensive than a bunch of comparable places + significantly farther away from where i live, gas adds up) to go somewhere this uninterested in enforcing its own rules. have never in my life wanted to smell someone else's shoes cooking and/or inhale the (toxic/estrogenic, explicitly banned) vaporized essential oils people bring to pour on top of the heater. (i guess the idea is that a room built for people to sweat in... shouldn't smell like sweat? that the proper way to behave in a shared space is to inflict as much unwanted sensation on others as possible? much to be written, perhaps not here.)still love the weight room, though, so let's say... three stars, with the potential to get up to 5 stars if they start enforcing their own policies.

Just joined and everyone has been super helpful. I decided to join when I looked into swim lessons for my 2 kids. It's less expensive to join as a family and take lessons at the member rate than it is to pay for lessons as a non-member. I realized I could do fitness classes while they do lessons and use child-watch if needed. I was able to buy a padlock on site for $13 which was convenient. I'm looking forward to seeing all they have to offer.
