A state of the art facility, truly. The whole place is clean, the weight room staff are extremely helpful and will even spot you on a lift if no one else nearby is strong enough (they're all beasts), the locker rooms are top notch, and they even have a kiosk selling protein bars to snag on your way out. I'm excited for their personal training to be more available, and I'm going to be here all the time.

Really nice gym with great equipment and spectacular hygiene. The only problem I have is that they only have one gender neutral restroom. There are many nonbinary people and people with disabilities who use that single-stall restroom, and I've been locked out at the end of my workout with all my stuff in my locker plenty of times.

I love this gym because they always keep it very clean and sanitized. There is also many different options for workout equipment. However, I do wish they had more core and ab machines instead of mostly arm and leg machines. Also, it is annoying how long it is closed for breaks! Most students after their first year live in apartments close to campus and have jobs over break (summer, winter) where they have to stay in chico, but they are hardly even open during that time which is extremely frustrating. I understand one week but not a whole month!!! Even limited hours would be better than that

Horrible, just horrible! My biggest gripe is that the staff REQUIRES you wear a mask even though you might be fully vaccinated. Yeah, try running on a treadmill with a mask on. I was light headed after the run because I didn't get quite enough oxygen.

There are a lot of weights, machines, and features, like an indoor track, ping pong tables, and a large basketball court. For most things, there won't be a wait time, but sometimes there is. The design and atmosphere of the gym is great. The pool has a section with lanes and a section without, which is nice. The hot tub is spacious. Students can bring a guest 10 times per semester which is convenient if you want to go with a non-student. While the men's and women's locker rooms are very nice, the gender inclusive alternative is small and missing many features that are included in the men's and women's, and the single-stall with lock design can get very inconvenient if multiple people want to use it (most times it's free and unlocked when I want to use it but, but always). The option is helpful especially for trans students like myself, and is a step in the right direction (all other gyms I've attended do not have this option at all), but I hope one day for all genders to be treated equally. Hooch the cat is usually outside the gym napping and being pet by gym-goers, and it's lovely seeing them when going to the Wrec. Overall it's a good gym that I enjoy going to.

Great prices on lockers for the semester, tons of equipment, very clean showers/locker room. I lost a ring my Aunt had given me in the locker room and someone was kind enough to turn it in to the front desk! Great experances here.

Awesome place for university students to work out, super clean! And it's free for Chico state students! There is an indoor track, which is 1/4 of a mild long, there are free weights on the lower levels, with elipiycals and stationary bikes on the second floor, there is also free lockers which is super nice, the pool is outdoors, and heated, with 2 got tubs along with it, there is a huge basket ball court, and a soccor court as well. They have trainers as well, it's free if you are a Chico state student.

Great gym, nice facilities, love working out there. However, it would be nice if they allowed alumni to buy memberships. The WREC is so wonderful that I don't want to work out anywhere else. The other gym's in Chico suck and are overpriced. Please consider some type of alumni membership option. It would be greatly appreciated by the alumni who still live locally.
