Clarksville Area YMCA offers an extensive range of fitness classes, a variety of exercise equipment, and a welcoming environment at their facility on Hillcrest Dr. This gym is particularly favoured by families, as it includes exceptional childcare services and a well-maintained aquatics area with a pool, therapy pool, hot tub, and sauna. Members appreciate the helpful and knowledgeable staff, a variety of extracurricular classes, and a safe and friendly atmosphere.

However, some patrons have noted issues with overcrowded weight areas, inconsistent staff communication, and insufficient lap lane availability in the pool. Despite these drawbacks, the overall consensus is that the inclusive community and range of amenities make it a valuable choice for many residents.

I was a member at YMCA for over 4 years until recently. The facility is clean, quiet, but small. There aren’t many equipments of the same kind so if some one is using it, you’re out of luck. Also the basketball court is ridiculously small, if there’s more than 3 people at a time, it automatically becomes too crowded. All of these things didn’t make me want to end my memebership because I understand that it’s not the highest quality gym. The reason why I did end my memebership here is because the head trainer there treated me and my father with disrespect. They automatically put the staff over the members at YMCA so if something goes wrong they will treat you like a criminal.

First my mom and I went to basic yoga with Doris and she was patient and inspirational. She even assisted my mom who has a knee injury and difficulty getting down. Doris is simply incredible! Today I tried Zumba with Jessica and I was blown away. Everyone was following in sync and it was a great work out that I felt hours later! Jessica was kind enough to correct me on certain steps asking us to leave feedback on our workout on what we liked or felt needed to improve. I really did love Jessica and I want to move as gracefully as her someday. So bottom line: ImI new to the YMCA however I find it to be very worthwhile. As we were walking by we passed the pool area and my mom lamented not having time for a dip in the hot whirlpool. Love, love, love!

Terrible, terrible, terrible YMCA. The weights area is small, the childcare is horrible, I swear they have no idea how to care for children.

The equipment stays broken for weeks, some of the trainers can be extremely rude just walking past them, there is this older lady that does accounts there and she is completely rude and unprofessional. The weight room is small and the place is ran by teenagers with no supervision.

Weight area too crowded. Equipment not lubricated often enough in areas needed (weight guide-bars, etc.). When the staff is asked about this the reply is, "it's scheduled". Scheduled and completed are NOT THE SAME. How 'bout a little supervision. I wish there was a gym closer to my house. Also, it does not take long to realize the staff are treated poorly. If working conditions were better perhaps they would complete scheduled tasks. However, for the most part - they are friendly.

Customer service at the front counter was great. They were friendly, professional, and made the sign up process easy. While standing there I did hear a phone call answered to which they explained that you can't cancel your membership by phone or computer, you have to come in person. Not horrible but something to to consider when you're forced to do an automatic bank draft for payment. We went only for the pool today so most of my review is based on that. The pool was ridiculous. There was minimal room for free swim, the water only going to 2 feet. The lap lanes were taken the entire time we were there and there was only 3 or 4. The "therapy pool" is where they hold classes such as kids swim class and water aerobics. The handful of adults wanting to use the therapy pool was stuck on one small wall area while these classes were held back to back.Bottom lineEmployees were nice.Facilities were a joke.

This facility is a great gym. Don't be scared away from these ratings (seriously)! I have two small children that absolutely love the childcare and sure it can be busy during a typical gym rush-hour, but it is still a great family/Christian/all-around gym in my opinion.
