I signed up a year ago because I wanted to swim. Basicaly, I was only using the pool, hot tube and sauna, and bycicles. Before I signed up, I got emails from them, a trial period, and sometimes even telephone calls cheking my impresion and if I have questions. After a few vizits I noted that the hot tube is frequently dirty, or closed. Then around June, it closed up and since then every time I am checking when it will re-open I get the same answer: ' we are waiting for parts to arive from the main office ' . With the manager is almost impossible to talk, unless I take a day off .... I am still a member but not onlyfull it seems that no one cares , I am still paying the monthly rate despite the fact that I am getting only 70% from what I signed up for. I have a feeling that the hot tube is going to stay close for an indeffinite time. One more thing, my husband was also a member and when he wanted to terminate the membership it took several weeks to be able to do this, after paying 2 month for absolutely nothing. All this refers to the Clifton branch, I start serioisly considering to also close my membership even that I am going to loose the one time fee and the annual. It seems that the management does not really care to mainain the facilities but the worst thing is that there is no one to talk to who can give honest and responsible answers and I feel that once I became a member the whole attitude of the managment changed.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Basketball court has been closed for MONTHS and the workers cant give a time frame on when it will be fixed. So many machines are out of order and is "SCHEDULED FOR MAINTENANCE" I have been to plenty of LA fitness around NJ and this is one of the worst ones, the lockers and bathrooms are dirty

This LA Fitness has lots of potential, good size, and multiple areas to work out. The only negatives are that most of the machines are always out of order, some of the people think that they own more than one machine, the employees don't do anything about this, and I noticed that there's no respect, some of the male members don't know how to respect some of the female in this LA Fitness.

I am currently having a very frustrating experience with this gym regarding the cancellation of my membership. I made it clear that I wanted to cancel back in August, followed all the procedures outlined in their policy, I went and spoke to the manager personally and yet my membership was not canceled as requested. The lack of communication and follow-through from the gym's manager was disheartening even after he acknowledged my membership was canceled and I would not be charged for August. It's disappointing when a business doesn't honor a customer's request to cancel, especially when it involves ongoing financial commitments. Not only was I charged for the August membership but now September as well.I attempted to speak with the manager today but I was told he was busy and unable to take my call. His refusal to speak to me about my concerns or assistance in this situation clearly outlines his lack of basic managerial skills. At the very least he could had spoken to me and sent out an escalation email regarding the error of my cancellation. His refusal only confirms that this wasn’t an error but more of a sneaky attempt to continue the membership charge.I hope they can improve their customer service and communication in the future, as this experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would advise others to be cautious when dealing with membership cancellations at this gym.

This is honestly this most DISGUSTING gym I have ever been to. They essentially bully you into personal training. I was pressured to sign up and instantly regretted it after I saw how the personal trainers treat the other clients. They’re uninterested and judgmental. I asked if I can cancel my contract and they said I couldn’t but I read their contact and you definitely can.YOU CAN LEGALLY CANCEL ANY CONTRACT WITHIN 3 DAYS & GET YOUR MONEY REFUNDED. Do not let these people fool you. They don’t deserve you hard earned money.Everything is always broken. There’s no AC in the class room. And they cut the turn field in half for personal training. I pay a membership I should be allowed to use any space I want. The worst gym I have ever been to.

It’s a great club with good classes and excellent instructors. Just don’t look for the staff to be helpful or have any correct information about anything. It’s the most popular LA Fitness in the area. Hence why they don’t seem to care if …

I literally just started the gym yesterday & today I already feel like canceling my membership. Jeremy went from the most welcoming trainer to the absolute worst and it was all because I wasn’t ready to set up my personal training sessions. He was rude & demeaning. You can tell he’s not passionate about training it’s just a money grab business for him. I’ll go to any other trainer BUT HIM. I never knew that not setting aside time for a personal session that I am paying for was a problem especially after I explained I have a chaotic schedule. My main concern is adding the gym to my daily routine not having Jeremy try to bully me over personal training sessions. Find somebody else to play with Jeremy because I’m not the one 😘

Let me preface this by saying I've been involved in the fitness industry for over 30 years from personal trainer to owner, and everything in between. My wife and I have been members of the Clifton location for several years now. The most disappointing aspect of this club is that there are major pieces of equipment that have been out of service for, not a few weeks, but a few months! How hard is it to fix a seated row machine? I know the answer because I've done it before. That's just one example of many (i.e. leg extension, 2 of the leg curl machines, a couple of the cable machines, a shoulder press, and row machines...) And using the supply chain issue is no longer applicable. I've done the research. It's a shame! LA Fitness, when they first came to the area, was supposed to be a shining example of how a gym is run. Not repairing machines in a timely period is a waste of gym membership fees. What I will say is, after months of having 80% of the treadmills unusable, they replaced all of them just recently. It would be nice if they took care of the rest of the gym.

Update (8/20/23) Since my review below on 6/23, the gym leased a large AC machine and humidifier for the aerobic studio in the hope that it would substitute the AC expected from a large corporation. Then suddenly, the lease was up and the machines were gone (about a week ago). Staff claimed the AC had been fixed! And so the same annual story repeats itself! The pictures below provide the ONLY circulation of air: hot air! It's an absolute joke. Side note: the floor is drenched with sweat after a packed class and is rarely washed, making surfaces disgusting AND dangerous!6/23: For the past 10 summers (bar one), the AC in the studio has been "broken." It is dangerously hot in there, and the added humidity and sweat on the floors make it slippery. Management play the "it's being fixed" or "we are waiting on a part," year after year, to keep members placated. But these conditions will ultimately cause an accident of some kind. Complaints are ignored.Furthermore, because the studio doors must remain open to receive a tiny bit of AC from the main floor during any class, staff have removed the studio speaker closest to this door. The solutions to such backwards issues make this an inferior and classless gym. SAVE YOUR MONEY and go elsewhere.
