The Little Gym of Montclair

We have been going to TLG since my son was about 1 year and he is now 3. We love the classes and the teachers are very engaging. It is great for when little ones are learning to walk. Facility is very clean! I highly recommend this gym!

My son had his 3rd birthday party at The Little Gym of Montclair and it was a blast! The moment we arrived to set up his party table, everyone was very helpful and accomodating. All the decorations were up and the party table for the food and desserts was all set and ready in 15 minutes! Our guests, both the kids and parents, had a wonderful time! And of course my son, the birthday boy had a blast! Thanks Little Gym for making Liam's bday party one to remember!

While attending a free trial class I was very unpleased. Their is only one instructor for the parent child classes and that is just not reasonable. They ask for parents to be responsible but for my first day I didn't feel okay pulling another child away from my child as I joined mainly for my daughters to make friends. The instructor kept running the activities as one of the children repeatedly hugged two other children while pushing them to the floor. I have tried another gym in west orange and seeing the difference was eye opening. At the little gym of Montclair the instructor lets the children run the class- in a negative matter- as she started and ended activities relatively quickly. the activities were not well thought out and age appropriate as the instructor handed out foam long sticks that the 2-3 year old used to hit one another. Also the children were all to join red carpet time and some were fussy, with more instructors the children would have had the freedom to roam and return freely (as their age suggests) in a safe matter. overall safety was a big concern as there were no extra padding around activities such as the hill which the children ran over only to fall to the carpet or the wall.

I absolutely love little gym and so does my 13 month old Lilly. I recommend it very highly and here is why.....The teachers ( specially Miss Cathy) are amazing and really love what they do. The nurturing and fun atmosphere. The attention to each and every child in the class is phenomenal. The teacher takes time to help if myself or my daughter are unsure of how to do something. The teacher seems to amazingly remember at what level my daughter is and what goals we have e.g walking or standing or crawling and they do exercises to promote achieving and perfecting those skills. The class is very inclusive. You never feel as if yourself or your child are left out. The facility itself is very clean and well kept. All toys and surfaces are disinfected after every class to promote hygiene and the safety of each child. The teachers also give great recommendations on occasion for exercises you can be doing at home. The staff is also very knowledgable and well trained at teaching my one year old. My daughter and myself have been taking this class since she was old enough to par ticipate at the Bug level. They have showcases and graduations at the end of a season or level where you are encouraged to bring family to share in the experience and achievement. My daughter is now a "Bird" and we plan on continuing for years to come.

My toddler has been happily attending classes here for a little over a year. Besides forward rolls, climbing and sharing they've helped with his color recognition and sign language. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES going to class and practice gym. The staff here is so amazing! They are always happy to be there and are very enthusiastic ---all the time. He loves his Kathy & Tisha in the mornings and Anna, Mary & Ashley in the evenings! We can't drive by with out him saying "play peas mama". They also throw fantabulous birthday bashes!!!

I love the Little Gym of Montclair - and more importantly so does my two year old little guy! He has learned many new skills and made some new friends along the way. The instructors are so encouraging and helpful whether it is a new skill in the gym or just helping a parent get their toddler's shoes on afterwards! The owner, Lori, is super sweet and makes the enrollment process a breeze. The facility is amazingly clean and organized for having a bunch of kiddos in and out all day. I also have to bring my 8 month old with us which is no problem at all. I looked at similar facilities in the area and I would definitely recommend The Little Gym of Montclair over all of them.

My daughter's birthday party was a wonderful experience. Everything was so organized so we didn't have to worry about a thing! The LG Staff was so friendly and welcoming to every child. There were lots of different activities in the gym to keep the kids engaged! It was an awesome time and I would definitely recommend! M. had a wonderful day! Thank you!

We've been going since 2011 and what I like best is that the programs are developmentally structured for specific age groups. Goals are achieved by PLAYING!! :-) The staff is extremely friendly and really embraces the children, creating a comfortable, fun, and exciting environment for them. I have had 2 of my children attend classes at The Little Gym and have had birthday parties there. I fully recommend The Little Gym of Montclair!! Love it there!

I like the physical challenges the Little Gym presents for toddlers and the confidence building skills. Most importantly my daughter has fun while she is learning. Great instructors! Enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

We love The Little Gym. Our nearly 3 year old has been going here since she was ten months old and our 4 year old takes Karate. I'm amazed at what they are able to get such young children to do. My kids learn actual gymnastics, like forward rolls and back flips. I am impressed by the dedication of the teachers, they truly love and support the kids. Miss Laurie, the owner, takes pride in her gym and it shows through in cleanliness, excellent employees and attentiveness to each family's needs. We have been members of and visited other gyms for kids, and this is definitely the best!
