I love this place!! I was looking for something new and different for working out and cycle-bar was just right for that. The staff is so welcoming and it definitely is a judgement free zone. I love the different times they have so I can plan accordingly to my schedule. It’s a nice place to start/ end my day with a quick, challenging ride. Id highly recommend checking it out!

Everything was very clean and smelled good. I was greeted as soon as I got in the door and the lady at the desk was really nice and helpful getting me set up. The two instructors were pumped up and ready to go! They brought great energy and motivation to my workout. 10/10 will be back next week!

There's something here for everyone at all levels of fitness. The positive, welcoming atmosphere is unlike any other I've experienced at a gym or fitness institute. If you've never cycled before (I hadn't), the staff are helpful, teach the ropes, and get you comfortable. Usually, the lights are turned down so you don't feel out of place as you're learning and you can go at your own speed without feeling like eyes are on you. You're the main character of your ride. Or, if you're more competitive, there are classes with challenges (both group and individual) where you can see your stats up against the rest of the class. The only downside is sometimes the grease smells from Mad Cow next door make you hungry during the ride! :)

What a great place! I've been attending classes for a few months now. The staff is welcoming and extremely helpful, the instructors are motivating, the music has been great and the facilities are always clean. As a newbie to cycling I really appreciated them kindly helping me set up my bike more than once. I was a little leery the first time as I don't usually love group fitness but with the dark lighting and classmates of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels I felt at ease. The variety of class times they provide makes it easy to fit in a workout in my ever-changing schedule. Love that every class I've attended has been different, never the same music or routine even with the same instructors or time slot. Keep up the great work Cycle Bar!!

C Smith, I hope we were able to address your concerns over the phone the other day. Again, we apologize that things aren't the way they should be just yet. Everyday is a new day that we strive to be better than the last.

Shady billing practices. Get charged a ride credit AND a no show fee (equal to a ride credit). Now I get they want to fill a seat, but if I had been there only one butt could have been in the seat. So they profited an extra seat. Had I known this I would have shown up with the flu and risked everyone getting sick, checked in and then gone home. When I found out, I immediately cancelled my account IN JANUARY. Still got charged for MARCH. Totally understand getting charged for February since it was after cutoff. However now they are saying both months were?? Shady stuff. Similar to another reviewer. Staff says one thing but no one says the same thing. Stay far away!

I was excited to hear about CycleBar coming to Columbia last year. I quickly joined as a founding member in September. When it finally opened months later in December, I attended a class as soon as it was open. I was excited that they had morning classes so I could go before work. I did not even think to ask when signing up whether or not they would have showers. They do not have showers, so I am not able to attend class before work. Due to this, I decided to change my unlimited membership to a 4 class pass membership. I was then told that I would have to cancel my unlimited membership, but had to give 30 days notice to do so per the contract so would be charged for another month of unlimited membership. They then instructed me that to sign back up I had to contact them for the 4 pass monthly membership. So I proceeded to cancel my membership as instructed. Got charged for the additional month of classes I can't attend because they don't have basic gym amenities (showers and locker rooms). I emailed them to confirm that this was their policy, and it was confirmed. So to have switched my membership without paying for an additional month at the unlimited month, I would have to have told them after taking literally one class. The only way to cancel your membership is by going in person or by calling. You cannot do so online. They will also charge you if you miss a class, even if you just forget to check in but still attend. For these reasons, I feel like CycleBar is more concerned about your money than your well-being. It just has a slimy, scammy gym feel all the way around. It is also worth noting that many of the five star reviews on google have been left by employees of Cyclebar.DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AN UNLIMITED MEMBERSHIP UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR AT LEAST ONE MONTH. VERY SCAMMY BUSINESS PRACTICES.Pros:-Decent instructors (my one gold star goes to these ladies, they are amazing)Cons:-Money grab- No showers- No changing rooms- Not enough space- Owners skimped on providing basic work out class amenities (changing room, separate male and female locker rooms, showers)- Overpriced- The bikes are not maintained, often broken, and the staff is not educated on how to properly fix and maintain the bikes. If you get a broken bike, you are not refunded or offered a free replacement class.- Feels like it is run by someone who has never taken a spin class before- Feels like the owners were short on cash when opening, skimped by to get the place open, and are now trying to money-grab as much as possible to get their return on investment.- Recommended RPMs reach >130, this increases your chance of overuse injury as it is not recommended to go above 100 RPMs for physical health reasons.
