Nice, quaint, non-corporate owned gym. They have some great equipment for a total body workout and it's all functional. One drawback I had were the hours of operation. I work in events and they aren't ever a 9-5 so it would prove …

I acquired a membership at this gym to go to the boot-camp. The gym has really old equipment for the price. I was not impressed with the boot-camp. I ended up moving and at their request went through hoops to cancel. Sent a certified letter to cancel. The gym continued to charge my credit card stating it takes 30 days for their system to cancel, then after that they told me it's the contract that would take 30 days to complete? I spoke with Jason who was less than pleasant and did not know what he was talking about. He interrupted me several times and was very rude. I do not recommend going to to this gym. They then charged me an additional fee for canceling. So it's basically 200.00 for canceling. With all the money they rip people off, they should invest in new equipment.

Most of the equipment is old, broken or has missing pieces. The rowing machine has been broken for over three years. There are way too many members. I often have to wait and wait and wait for equipment, even in off-peak hours. There is an INSANE amount of personal trainers - more than I have ever seen in any gym anywhere else. Add these trainers and their clients to the already over crowded gym and it is chaos. One of the selfish trainers uses eight or nine different pieces of equipment all at one time, so that means no one else can use them. Considering the size of the gym, that means the majority of the weight machines are being used by him and everyone else has to wait. Then, afterwards that same trainer walks off and leaves all that equipment for someone else to clear up.I spend a lot of my workout time cleaning up other people's equipment before I can use it - often it is the gym's own trainers who think they are too special to clear up their own equipment. Most of the trainers spend much of their time playing on their phones and admiring themselves in the mirrors instead of focusing on their clients. In the free weight area, people are actually bumping into each other because it is too crowded. The music is often way too loud - I have earphones but the gym music is so loud I cannot hear my own music.I often come home covered in mosquito bites because the gym owners are stupid and leave the doors open !! They don't want to pay for a/c.Parking is also a nightmare during peak hours, but gets better after 8pm.I have also seen members bring their dogs into the gym ! I shouldn't have to deal with that. The older guy on the front desk is really nice but another one of the guys on the front desk (his name may be Jason) is very miserable and unhelpful. He has a little circle of members and trainers who he is nice to, but he is horrible to everyone else. He has a bad attitude and more than once I have heard him loudly making fun of members behind their backs to other members and trainers. Very gossipy. Very unprofessional.Update Oct 2018 - more and more people are bringing their dogs into the gym - including the people on the desk. It is absolutely ridiculous to have to listen to dogs barking and whining while I work out. On rainy days, the whole gym stinks of wet dog - the smell makes me want to vomit ! One immature, attention-seeking girl ties her dog to different machines as she goes around the gym, so other people are unable to use those machines - it's unbelievably selfish, yet the gym allows her to do it ! The guy on the front desk brings his dog and I've seen him mopping up pee more than once. Seriously, why are clients having to see this ? Why can't people leave their dogs at home ? Some people are allergic to dogs, why should they be forced to deal with dogs at a place they pay to visit ?I canceled my membership. Diesel Fitness has turned into a disgusting, filthy, smelly pit where I can't relax. I now pay the same price to go to a gym where they behave professionally and respect their clients. No dogs are allowed in my new gym and it is bliss.

This is a really great place to get a work out in, especially if you're serious and someone who moves through their workouts with purpose. The management and staff are great, and they only allow talented trainers on their floor. Sometimes its pretty busy, but the abundance of equipment helps a lot.Not sure about reviews saying that the equipment stays broken because I've never seen a piece of equipment remain unfixed for more than a day or so before a technician can get to it. This is easily one of the best places to get a workout in in Central Dallas.

I’ve been a member of the Uptown location and the previous location since 2011. Unassuming, non-intimidating environment. Machines & equipment could use updating. It’s common to find treadmills etc out of order. Lots of personal training …

If you're into lifting weights, working out hard with minimal talking, this is for you. As someone who enjoys the laidback atmosphere at my local Y, it was more intense than I prefer. One note, if you follow the directions on Google, you …

The gym is great, I've been here for almost 3 years now. The new location is a little small but did not lose anything I was using at the other location. It does get a little crowded during peak hours but what gym does not. The staff is friendly and take care of your concerns.

Worst gym ever. Most of the equipment is broken in some way. More than half of the treadmills and ellipticals have something wrong with them such as broken buttons or the ramp won't raise or lower and none of them are accurate on distance. We've been going to Diesel for almost 3 years and none of them have ever been fixed. We thought maybe when they moved to the new location that they might either fix the broken equipment or get new equipment, but no such luck. The new location is cramped and the air conditioning cannot keep up so they just leave the doors open all over the building. That should be really cozy come July and August. The weight training equipment is stacked so close together that people are constantly bumping into each other. The locker room at the new location, while much cleaner than the filthy old location, is tiny. There used to be a steam room at the old location, which was often broken as well, but the new location does not have a steam room. They also did away with the tanning bed which was a part of our membership at the old location. We were only going here because it was cheap and while it is indeed cheap, it is not worth even the price being paid. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.

This gym is the perfect place to get a quick workout in without being packed in like sardines as you are in many of the other box gyms in Dallas. The staff is super friendly and they even have a basketball court. I have been a member here for over a year now and plan on being a member as long as I live in the Uptown area.
