The gym is pretty nice. Now that it's open and accessible. Not too busy, good equipment and enough that it's not very busy.

Good 24hr gym. Needs some maintence on the machines. The new auto lights they installed are less than convenient. You end up working out in partial darkness or have to wave your arms every 30 sec.

Truth be told they don't have as much room or equipment as the wright field fitness center but that all day CAC access is a God dam blessing! Not alot of people early morning! Which is amazing since it's across the dorms

Unfortunately the civilian staff members have disrespect for military members and forgot that we are all human. What a shame.... However, no discipline actions will be enforced on the civilian staff members because this gym operates on a government basis so complaints towards the staff members will go nowhere. Thank you for my service... NOT

Track is great from what you can expect from a track. Six laps around and you’ve got yourself a 1.5-mile run. Gym inside feels small compared to Area B fitness center but there’s enough to make you happy. Little hot in there despite the fans going but seems typical of a hot summer day.

Clean, user friendly - a bit like a YMCA. Has a cross fit section. Weight room, basketball court Ellipticals, treadmills and rowing machines. Excellent staff!

Good gym if you don’t care about the fancy things. If you’re a power-lifter this gym is for you. That being said: this gym seems to be forgotten about by the 88th Services. It’s usually dirty, the bathroom sinks are always backed up, it’s miserably hot in the summer (they have the big fan locked out for some ungodly reason), and usually cold in the winter. The gym staff seems un-apologetically indifferent to any concerns you may bring up.I can only remember one time I’ve seen staff cleaning the gym, and that was a week before Corona.Do better.

24hr gym for AD and DoD civ here with registered Cac. Equipment is in good order and usually clean. Very busy in the mornings. Great place for shift workers and those who workout during irregular hours.

Jarvis Gym is conveniently located about a mile north of the base hotel Wright-Patterson Inn. It has a little something for everyone and is broken down into four sections; 1. the gymnasium, 2. cardio rooms, 3. weight room, and 4. CrossFit room. There isn't much to be said about the gymnasium. If you want to play a pick-up basketball game or just shoot some hoops on your own, there is plenty of room. There are two cardio rooms. One is outfitted with a TV so you can watch TV or put in a DVD. There are several treadmills and a stair-climber in this room. The second cardio room is right next to the weight room and has several types of stationary bikes and ellipticals as well as another TV.The weight room is your typical all-inclusive weight training area like what you would find at a 24 Hour Fitness or a Wilson's Fitness gym, etc. There is a cable rig in the center of the room with two rowing stations, and several pull-down stations and adjustable cable hooks on the sides as well as a pull-up/chin-up bar in the center. There are four smith machines in this area (I don't know why any single gym would need four smith machines...) and one squat rack. There is also 1 each of a bench press, decline bench press, incline bench press, and seated shoulder press stations. This room also includes three full sets of dumbbells reaching as heavy as 150#. And the majority of the equipment in this room appears to be almost brand new.The CrossFit area has everything you could want for performing CrossFit WODs or just doing some powerlifting, Olympic lifting, or any other combination of the "big" lifts like deadlifts, squats, and O-lifts. There is a pull-up rig in the back of the room with several sets of gymnastics rings and TRX attached to it. There are three freestanding racks that can be used for squats, floor presses, standing presses, etc. And the floor is covered in a layer of rubber gym tiles to make it ideal for performing lifts from the ground. There are also three Concept 2 Rowing Erg machines in this room. The downside is that its not a huge space. Five people in this room makes a crowd. I attended the gym early in the morning (around 5 am) and I didn't have any issues with it being over crowded. But there is a group that performs PT in this gym on Friday mornings around 5:30 am and it definitely got a little crowded on those days.Overall, this gym has something for just about every type of Fitness specialty. My biggest complaint is that space is scarce. Much of the gym feels cramped. As I said before, this wasn't a huge issue for me because there was low attendance in the early morning. But for anyone working out in the early afternoon, it may get overcrowded fast. Otherwise, this gym has good equipment and lots of options.

Has a good mix of free weights, machinery, and cardio options. Rubber mat room devoted to Olympic lifts with a large pull up cage is a big plus.Only downside is the main overhead fan doesn't work too well so it gets uncomfortably humid and hotter than hell in the summertime.24/7 access if you've got proper identification and get coded for an NFC card during manned hours, otherwise it is limited like most other commercial gyms.
