Genesis Health Clubs - Merle Hay

I have really enjoyed my time at this gym. I switched from Planet Fitness about a month ago, and I have to say, the upgrade was well worth it. The staff is very friendly, the equipment offers more variety than what I was used to, and I like the added benefits of the sauna, which has been really helpful for my recovery.If you are new to working out and don't know where to start, Genesis offers friendly Fitness Advisors who can assist you in training, dieting advice, or information on pricing. This is a perfect place for new gym goers.Honestly, I cant say enough good things about this gym. If you are looking for a gym with quality equipment, a friendly staff, and some nice benefits over a typical gym, then I would highly recommend you to try out Genesis.

Place is always clean. Plenty of equipment. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Sauna is helpful after a long workout. There's a fridge upfront with various products for sale.Would be 10 stars if it was a 24 hourn gym!

I’ve been to 3 Genesis health clubs so far and this club is head and shoulders above the rest. First off it’s clean, like sparking cleaning, the guy cleaning the bathroom cares about his work and it shows. Not sure when it was last update, but it looks and feels much new compared to the Hickman and West Des Moines clubs. It also has a friendlier vibe which is contagious.Each club has a unique feature, this club has lots of space, it’s well organized, everything is on 1 level, absolutely love how large the sauna is and how hot it gets. It’s 10 minutes out of the way for me, but it’s worth the extra drive in my eyes.I want to give a shout out to the managers & staff who clean and keep the place organized, they combined have kept this facility functioning at an elite level.

Overall this place feels like home, it's comfortable, they have all the equipment you need, and it's very clean!Matthew has been assisting me through my personal training, he is very knowledgeable and knows how to keep you motivated and push you out of your comfort zone.I have lost 70lbs in 8 months and gained mobility in my ankle again after breaking it! I highly recommend the merle hay location to everyone

Garrett is a great trainer! Since taking over 5:30 am Bootcamp the class has transformed. A great variety of exercises and is always there correcting form so you get the most out of your workout.

If you’re looking for a clean gym with friendly staff I’d definitely recommend this one (Merle Hay). Jessie and the rest of the staff were friendly and hooked it up with a few day passes. The gym has good equipment and a dope atmosphere.

I’m a long time “gym goer” at another gym and decided to switch to Genesis because my husband didn’t want to join the gym I was previously going to. Today was my second day at this gym, I went to leave and they had “free tshirts” as long as you refer 5 people OR leave a 5-star review. I decided I just wanted to leave and said I had just started at this gym and didn’t feel like doing that quite yet. A guy with a mullet (I presume he works here as he was wearing a Genesis shirt and I saw him behind desks) decided to say “good luck with that” in a condescending way. I NEVER leave bad reviews but this experience has me regretting signing up for this gym. I was already nervous about starting at a new gym, I had friends at my last gym and I get made to feel this way at a new place…sucks. No 5-stars from me and as for the referrals, good luck.

I would give this Genesis Health Club over 5 stars if I could. I was looking for a gym that had knowledge and expertise as I was looking to lose weight, add some muscle, and just be overall make better lifestyle choices. When I met Brooklyn, I was sold. I asked her questions about my personal goals and was very impressed with her knowledge on nutrition and exercise. While we were sitting down and I had already signed on the dotted line and given her my credit card, she went above and beyond and walked me over to machines I had never seen in a gym before and demonstrated how they work and why I wanted to use them. She then said, "You try". She corrected my technique and gave me some more pointers that I can use for my workout. Her friendliness and level of professionalism is something that in my personal experience is very rare to find in a mid-size to large health club with so many moving parts. If this is what you can expect from Genesis Health Clubs on Merle Hay, you should not hesitate to start or re-start your fitness journey. Ask for Brooklyn if you haven't met her yet! I'm excited for fitness again,
