I’ve been a member of this gym for 5+ years so I’m obviously very happy with it. I love the classes consisting of technique training and then the optional striking sparring and BJJ rolling. The people are great as well. MMA people are kind, hard working, and very helpful. Coach Jeff Neal has been doing this his whole life, both as an MMA fighter himself and currently as a coach. Whether your goals are fitness or MMA expertise, Coach Jeff will get you there.

Carlson Gracie Aurora is the best place to train in. I personally owe all my gratitude and respect to this place for not only giving me a place to train but teaching me how to stay dedicated to all my goals. Jeff Neal is such an amazing coach with a very vast knowledge of MMA, boxing and Brazilian ju jitsu. He teaches so everyone from beginners all the way to the professional level and provides the best training to their ability. All around a great human being. I personally owe Lorenzo Clark the head Muay Thai coach everything and has made my passion for Muay Thai even stronger has been a mentor and a and gone above and beyond as a coach. I've learned how to practice Muay Thai and my all around training thanks to him. This gym is more than just a place to come and get a work out it's a family and I've been accepted and treated amazing since I've joined. I highly recommend if you want to either learn for the first time or advance your traing in BJJ, Muay Thai, boxing, mma or all the above come to this gym you won't regret it. Like I've said it's more than a team it's a family I'm so very grateful to be a part of!!!

Carlson Gracie North Aurora is an exceptional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym with a team of knowledgeable and experienced instructors, including Brian Bishop and Jeff Neal. Both of them are highly skilled and dedicated to helping their students reach their full potential. They have a great way of breaking down techniques and making them easy to understand, which is really helpful for beginners like me. They also have a great way of pushing their students to improve and achieve their goals. The training environment at Carlson Gracie North Aurora is very friendly and welcoming. Everyone is encouraged to push themselves and improve, and the sense of camaraderie is really strong. The gym also has a great selection of equipment and a clean, well-maintained facility.Overall, I would highly recommend Carlson Gracie North Aurora to anyone looking to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or improve their skills. The instructors, especially Brian Bishop and Jeff Neal, are top-notch and provide an excellent learning experience. Been taking my 7 year old son for boxing and jujitsu for about a month now. Brain and Pearson are awesome with kids. Gym is nice and clean, big mat, plenty of bags for boxing, and a really good group of members. Price was excellent also!!!

I joined CGT 2+ years ago along with my 2 boys (ages 7 and 9). If you have ever thought about learning jiu jitsu, I highly recommend you stop in. The team is full of great people and excellent coaches. My only regret is I wish I joined earlier.

I have been with Jeff Neal and the Carlson Gracie gym for over 10 years. I have been to a lot of gyms and can promise you this gym will take you to whatever level you want to reach. There are no overinflated egos, it's a place you will get out of it what you put into it. Fitness, self defense, or fighter whatever your goal they will get you there. The worlds a crazy place best to be prepared.

I started training here after my daughter researched places near Naperville and recommended it to me. (She has trained 6 days a week for 4 years at a tough gym in CA and knows her stuff.) I've learned a ton from Jeff and the other instructors in my 6 months here so far, 3 days a week, doing boxing and bjj. I trained 10 1/2 years in Hapkido and know what makes a good school. This place is awesome for me because the instruction is very meticulous and attention-to-detail oriented, and anyone who knows bjj knows that minor corrections in the way a technique is done can create a huge advantage. Questions are encouraged and answered in a helpful way, and most importantly, there are a large number of VERY experienced practitioners from whom I've been able to learn. Everyone has been cool, there are no egos here, everyone helps everyone else. Jeff is a humble, powerful dude, with a major resume and hugely successful career, not only fighting, but coaching, including UFC pros. I love this place, highly recommended.

The best. Jeff and Brian are the best in the business at getting fighters ready for battle in both jiu jitsu and mma. This is a great place for law enforcement to learn self defense, and it's also a great place for the casual person to get a great workout and learn some new tricks. I highly recommend!

I have known Professor Jeff Neal for over 20 years and have a great deal of respect for him as both a martial artist and a teacher.I first met Jeff when he was a student at my Wing Chun school in Chicago's Old Town in the early 90s. He was a good, conscientious student and did well both training and sparring. When the UFC appeared on the scene Jeff became drawn to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and went to the West Coast regularly to train with the Carlson Gracie Team. What few people realize is how instrumental Jeff Neal has been in bringing BJJ to Chicago. From the early days at Gold's Gym, Jeff became a key player in establishing Jiu-Jitsu in Chicago. Were it not for him, both Carlson Gracie Sr and Carlson Gracie Jr probably would not have come to this town and made it the force in modern American BJJ that it is.I owe Jeff a personal debt of gratitude for exposing me to BJJ and introducing me to Carlson Gracie Sr in 2003. Together we explored the idea of putting Wing Chun fighters in vale tudo competition and successfully put one of them in the ring a number of years ago.I still train Jiu-Jitsu regularly and have since earned my black belt in the "gentle art". None of this would have been possible without the help, teaching and support of Professor Jeff Neal. As a professor of Jiu-Jitsu and as a coach of cutting edge MMA I couldn't recommend him more highly.
