I am not a negative reviewer—or usually a reviewer at all—but I had such a disappointing experience tonight trying to buy a new bicycle. The first two staff members who helped me were super friendly. They aired up the tires for me, took it up front, and were very nice when I checked out!Unfortunately, the bike I purchased IMMEDIATELY had problems upon walking out of the store. Before I drove off, I took it for a small test ride in the parking lot. Low and behold, the gears wouldn’t shift properly, the chain kept catching, and the wheels were already squeaking. I don’t think it was assembled properly/something happened when it was on display. This is obviously very frustrating for a brand new purchase! I walked back in to return the bike and accessories I bought ($300+ worth), and the second cashier was INCREDIBLY condescending. I tried to tell him the bike had issues, but his only response was that “buyers remorse is nothing to be ashamed of, ma’am” :| I don’t think he listened at ALL when I tried to explain why I brought it back so soon. I got my money, so whatever…but I really didn’t appreciate being dismissed like that. It will probably go back on the floor in that condition because he clearly didn’t take me seriously.2 stars because most of the staff has been pretty friendly every other time I’ve gone there. Unsure what was wrong with the bike, so make sure to test ride before purchasing.

This store has a little bit of everything! My wife and I were shopping for dart boards, running shoes, stain remover, and helmets. This place has it all.

Went to pick up fishing supplies for weekend outing. Customer service representative Joe steered me to some tremendous savings which were undoubtedly cheaper than their competitors *

The cashier on lane 6 who checked me out at 13:53 1/16/23 have zero customer service skills. Bending over on his phone the customers didn’t even know he was open until saw the light and I followed after. I thanked him for my receipt and he completely ignored me just nothing. Need to find people who want to work with customers. On another note I did find what I was looking for thank you guys very much ❤️❤️

The cashier we had, Jayden, was so incredibly rude and unprofessional, it's not even funny. She gave us dirty looks the entire transaction and acted like we offended her when we said no to the store credit card. Sweetie, we're not going to …

Very nice and clean but like everywhere else had 1 register open. I refuse to use self check out without getting a discount. Lol The price of things keep going up but customer service continues to decline. Overall great store a little high priced in my opinion but all these sporting stores are. Ended up just sitting my items down and leaving because I waited 20 mins and the line didn't move. I'm aware someone has to reshelf it but they had 3 workers just standing by door greeting people and 1 checking people out. 🙄

We went to Academy Sports in Evansville IN looking for a heavy duty beach cart. We were greeted with a friendly smile from a gentleman attending the door, and he was also very helpful in navigating us to where the beach carts were located. There were 3 choices from lightweight to heavy duty with a cooler. We liked the XL MULTIPURPOSE WAGON with Built In Cooler (with drain) and adjustable drop tailgate (with decent hardware) The tires are hard plastic but seem to be sturdy and thick.(Can see them being replaced with some rubber ones down the road if the plastic ones don’t hold up) We wanted to see the item out of the box to see how sturdy it was. CHRIS opened the box and expanded the accordion frame of the cart to open it, showing us where to secure the straps for folded up position or open/locked position. The maneuverability of this cart is Very Good, the front wheels are closer together than the rear wheels and the handle telescopes (but the little bracket that’s supposed to hold the handle doesn’t hold it in place. A bungee cord will come in handy here)The Beach Cart has a galvanized finish and seems to be well made. It’s huge and would probably hold 2-3 kids , though it’s advised not to use it for this purpose. It’ll hold all your beach gear in the cart plus has two drink holders on either side of the handle, has mesh pockets inside the cart, has Velcro straps to hold your beach umbrella (6.5’) on the outer side, and the tires are about two inches wide so it’ll make it easier to pull through the sand. The cooler is removable and is located at the inside front of the cart, it has an easy access flap on the zippered lid and a drain spout with attached plug on the lower right. VERY HANDY!Overall we are very pleased with our purchase and the looks/ feel of the cart, and very pleased with our experience with CHRIS and the Door Greeter who were both very helpful. We’ll update our review after our upcoming beach trip!

They always have what I'm looking for in stock. I appreciate the store lay out. I'm never just walking around trying to find a department. The store is always clean and lines are rarely long

This store is in desperate need of self checkout, but I am always pleased with the selection of products and friendliness of the staff.

This store was absolutely fabulous! They gave us a discount that we couldn’t get anywhere else on a bulk purchase of bicycles for the Martin County Christmas Toy Store. We purchased 42 bikes and will donate these and more to our local kids. …
