GB3-Sunnyside is a fitness center located at 6149 E Kings Canyon Rd, Fresno, CA. It offers a wide range of workout equipment, a pool, sauna, and steam room. The gym mostly stays clean and the staff, while often friendly, can sometimes be inattentive. The gym lacks class variety, focusing mainly on aqua aerobics. It's a convenient spot, though it gets crowded quickly, particularly in the evenings. The gym has an issue with equipment maintenance, and older machines often break down. Membership doesn't include the 24/7 access like other GB3 locations, and customer service can be hit or miss.

Despite its shortcomings, GB3-Sunnyside provides essential fitness services and amenities that cater to a wide audience. The facility is best suited for those nearby, looking for a no-frills gym experience without the need for extensive classes or top-tier customer service. The gym's strengths lie in its convenience, equipment variety, and the clean, maintained environment.

Pros:

  • Wide range of workout equipment
  • Pool, sauna, and steam room available
  • Recently updated areas with better lighting and flooring
  • Location is convenient for nearby residents
  • Generally clean environment
  • Friendly staff
  • Good for quick workouts
  • Not super packed during certain times
  • Free weights and cardio machines are usually available
  • Offers essential fitness amenities

Cons:

  • Busy during peak hours

  • Unprofessional staff behavior reported

I was disappointed to find out that they don’t offer any exercise classes here, except aqua aerobics. I had to go to the Clovis gym for the three free physical training sessions, and their machines differ from the ones in Sunnyside Fresno, so it was pretty worthless. The Clovis gym, although older, has newer, nicer equipment. I end up driving to 10 miles or so there instead of going to Sunnyside, even though it’s very close to where I live. It’s a shame.

Had everything you might need but otherwise the ugliest most confusing layout I've ever seen in a gym. Would rather drive to genuinely any other gym. Horrible compared the the other gb3's, would never come again. I've seen nicer planet fitnesses

This particular location doesn't offer classes other than the swimming aerobics for the elderly. But it has good equipment. Is not super packed when I've gone.

My recent experience at this gym left me utterly disappointed and uncomfortable. I had just finished a 30-minute workout and decided to unwind in the steam room during the last 10 minutes. To my shock, an employee named Matt burst into the room and aggressively yelled at me to get out, as if he wanted to engage in a confrontation. Not only was this behavior completely unprofessional, but it also made me feel unwelcome and unsafe. I chose this gym primarily because of its proximity to my workplace, as it accommodated my schedule, closing at 11 PM. However, what I didn't expect was that they would close the sauna and steam room a whole 10 minutes earlier without any prior notice.Matt's demeanor throughout this incident was beyond rude. When I tried to address my concerns and speak to a manager about the situation, he responded in an incredibly disrespectful manner, dismissively telling me to contact a manager. In a place that should promote relaxation, fitness, and customer satisfaction, this experience was a stark contrast. I strongly advise anyone considering this gym to think twice before joining, as the rudeness and unprofessionalism displayed by their staff, particularly Matt, cast a dark shadow on an otherwise promising facility.

Good place to workout. Horrible Wi-Fi. The pool and other services are usually always out of commission. The staff are always distracted talking to themselves or eating at front desk. Honestly not a welcoming place but it works well for quick workouts if you can find free machines

This gym is living up to its “ghetto” standards. There is no water bottle dispenser, we still have to tip our bottles over at a water fountain. This could be a good upgrade. Also, when they section off parts of the gym for maintenance, they use gym equipment like benches and dumbbells to do it, seriously??? That’s equipment we could be using while you’re updating… it just takes away from everyone else. Honestly, this gym can do better. Also, the customer service here needs work as well. Had this depressive looking, bad attitude young lady help me unfreeze my account. The whole time it seems like I was talking to a depressed Wednesday from the Adams family..

I like this location as far as cardio machines and the steam room. Lately, it seems like dumbbells are missing or not put away. It is super packed at night, so getting a bench is a waiting game. They updated the back room recently with rubber flooring and added a ton of light to the main room. Overall, it's a good gym.

Can get very busy, but great place to workout at. Love the sauna and steam room after a good exercise.PRO TIP: the best water fountain station is by the treadmill where the water is colder and comes out stronger. The others are pretty weak

Good ambience all around. Much smaller than the Herndon and Fowler location, but the proximity holds sway, as it is near my place of residence. Also, me a meathead. Me no brains. I luv lifting heavy poop. Me trying to attract ladies with my grande muscles. And you, bony guy?
