By far the best mma gym I have been too. Good group of people and one of the most technical gyms I have been to for jiu jitsu and striking.

Fantastic instructor, environment, and vibe to learn martial arts. Kaj Falls has a dedication to and technical knowledge of kickboxing, BJJ, wrestling, Judo, etc. that he imparts in a deliberate and safe way. Tristan McGraw also teaches an 8am cardio kickboxing class on Wednesdays that is amazing. The other students are very welcoming to people of all skill levels. The environment fostered here has allowed me to really dive into the mental and physical challenges of these sports.West End also has classes to suit various ages as well as skill levels. My daughter and young niece have developed an interest in kickboxing while attending kids' classes, while my college-aged niece participated with adults. From my daughter (9 yrs old at the time of post): "I 100% recommend West End Martial Arts. It's where I learn my kickboxing and we learn so much."

First off I’ve trained at several other gyms and I have to say Kaj is by far the most technical instructor I’ve ever had. Not only in BJJ, but also kickboxing. He has created a training environment for optimal learning, but at the same time I’m never worried about negligent training injuries or egos at this school.

Best gym I’ve ever been a part of, great instructor, affordable, and the instructor pays attention to all of the students regardless of skill level which allows the whole gym to excel. Safety is taken seriously as well, which if your work with your hands like myself is a huge positive! Can’t recommend this gym enough

The most technical training in Gainesville by far , whether kickboxing, jiu jitsu or judo. The instruction and detail kaj falls delivers is unparallel. Learn real techniques for self defense and modern day competition (mma, kickboxing or bjj)

I highly recommend training under Kaj. The gym has a culture of prioritizing saftey. The instructors are very knowledgeable in multiple martial arts. This gym is great for recreational and competitive training.

Excellent MMA school all round. Kaj is a great instructor in both BJJ and striking - very patient, knowledgeable, and technical! Highly recommend this school for beginners and advanced trainees alike.

Although I’m one of the only girls that train here, I don’t get treated like one. All of the guys are cool, supportive, and don’t treat you any different - they just treat you like part of the team. Not only does the team make this a great place to learn, but Kaj Falls is the best instructor I’ve ever met. He treats everybody the same, gives it to you how it is, teaches in great detail, and only compliments you if you’re actually doing it right. This way, you feel very accomplished and know when you’re actually doing good. Martial arts may sound intimidating, but anybody can do it. I love it because it’s a sport for which you’re constantly learning, it’s super fun, and it’s a great workout. Without changing my diet, or doing anything different, I’ve lost 10 pounds since I started training. Whether you are interested in joining for your health, social life, or a challenge, I think you will find that there are more pros than cons to join! Don’t you want to be able to tell people you do martial arts? Come on by and try it - you might like it (:

West End Martial arts has by far surpassed my expectations. Kaj is a phenomenal instructor for both kid’s and adults. It is a very family oriented academy and parents are encouraged to participate with the kids. I love sharing such an experience with my son as well as challenging myself. Come in and see just how amazing the people and academy is. We look forward to meeting you!

Love this gym. Amazing, detailed instruction for everyone from the beginner to the advanced student. I feel like Kaj really cares about my development as an athlete and the other students are always so welcoming and supportive. As someone who had never done any kind of contact sport before the age of 30, I can confidently say that I always feel safe when training here and have learned so much. The facility is brand new and so clean! I moved away but I still come back regularly to train here (Bjj, kickboxing, and judo).
