Life Time in Gilbert, AZ, offers a variety of amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, and a basketball court. Many customers rave about their family-friendly environment, excellent trainers, and effective group classes. The Kids Academy seems to be a favorite among parents. However, recent customer reviews highlight some serious concerns about long-term closures of amenities such as the indoor pool and sauna, and ongoing construction. Multiple members have expressed dissatisfaction with management and the overall upkeep of the gym, which seems to have affected their experience negatively.

Despite its premium service positioning, persistent issues such as poor air quality, overcrowded facilities, and frequent closures without compensation or communication have led to declining member satisfaction. If aquatic facilities and consistent access to all amenities are non-negotiable for you, it's advisable to consider these points before joining.

Very disappointed as I have been a member of this gym for over a year. In the duration of that time the gym has been under construction for more than half of the last year. This construction has involved plastic construction walls being made in the main gym / cardio area, sauna being closed for extended periods multiple times, and closure of the basketball area for months due to renovations. During my time here I feel that I have never had access to the promised amenities. Yet I have been patient for an entire year not complaining once. This gym is also packed with people a majority of the time.I was stunned to get an email stating that my rates will be RAISED monthly when this gym has not provided their members with the promised amenities for an extended period.I’ve also noticed management change multiple times in the last year. Unfortunately will need to look for a new gym. I’ve heard more than great things about other local facilities.

Classes are amazing, I love the comraderie of working out with others and having the push from the instructors. Everyone has been awesome, I especially love Teresa's En Barre class. More of those please!

Surprising how a place that is always under construction can manage to still look so bad. You would think they were redesigning the Taj Mahal, but every time they finish a remodel - the place looks worse than before. It would be better to shower in a pit of acid than at this gym. Highly recommend 🙊 …

**Update - reducing to 1-star. Walked into the gym today and the entire place stunk of rotten eggs/sewage gas - gave me a headache. This Lifetime needs to get their act together.Lifetime Fitness is a premium workout experience and I’ve been a big fan for years. However, this location has some issues that I hope management/corporate can correct:1. Poor air quality - today the gym smelled like smoke/ash tray - I know there has been some smoke outside from a brush fire but please upgrade your indoor air filters to ensure there is healthy indoor air quality for working out. You regularly notice people coughing/sneezing/etc. in this gym. When it’s not smoke, it’s dust, or particles from the construction going on inside. A premium gym should take air quality serious. Please address this!!2. After converting the 2nd basketball court to Pickleball, it’s been very difficult to play basketball on the remaining court. There are frequently kid clubs/events using it. One major reason I and others pay a premium with lifetime is their historically nice basketball courts. Also, it’s unacceptable to not clean the courts after these events to ensure a safe court free of debris. And the fact that you make members pay like $5-10 to reserve a court is ridiculous!3. Your Alpha classes taking up many of the Olympic lifting-squat rack stations during prime time hours (5pm-6:30pm) Monday-Thursday is very frustrating. They use those stations even though most of the time they aren’t even squatting or doing Olympic lifts. If you’re going to do this, please add more stations for the rest of your members!! They also blast music from portable speakers that is obnoxious for members trying to listen to their own music. You already have speakers playing music around the gym, so this is just annoying.I know I’m not the only patron who feels this way. Please address this soon so as to maintain your premium status in gyms!! Members shouldn’t have to worry about these things.

I feel like I should get a free month - or two - because the reason I joined the gym in the first place was because of the indoor pool, however. the constant closure of the pool has me considering ending my membership. Most recently, the pool has been closed for over 2 months and there is no date for it to reopen. This membership is not cheap, and with many of the amenities I come here for being consistently closed, I question why I pay so much money for a incomplete gym. If it wasn't for the great trainers, like Nick Sandoval, I would find a new gym to join.

This gym has gone downhill. Indoor pool was closed off and on in the winter and not heated properly and then again all summer indoor pools closed for updated which should take weeks not over 3 months and still closed in to fall. I only go to this gym for the pool. Paying membership for nothing. Outside pool is hot, congested with too many people, and dirty. Asked to talk to manager multiple times and no one returns your call or emails. Very poor management and customer service. They don’t care about their members. I have gone her 15 years and the last few years it has gotten worse and worse. I would think twice about joining esp if you are a swimmer esp. with long term inconsistent access to the pools that doesn’t seem to change. If you do swim outside good luck getting a lane with their swim team and swim classes. If you are in a lane and they need it they kick you out of the lane. Their classes are priority over your membership. Money driven not customer service driven. I usually don’t leave bad reviews but this year has been so bad I thought I should share with others. They have had pool repairs in the past but non the lasted over 4 months. Tempe gym doesn't have these issues. Unfortunately that gym would take extra 75 min travel time to get to for me which is not possible in my schedule. Real bummer the Gilbert gym is not what it used to be.

I used to love this gym, but they have increased their prices and accessibility to the rock wall and the indoor and out door pool have diminished. It doesn’t make sense. Instead of discounting memberships temporarily for the inconvenience, they offered we go to the next gym if we want an indoor pool which is inconveniently (35min) far from my home. They also don’t take my wellness benefit card from my insurance, where as other gyms did. The main reason I loved this gym and found it more valuable than other gyms was the great indoor pool which helped get my cardio in with my medical restrictions. For those of us that can’t be in the sun longer than 15min, the outdoor pool is not a substitute. And the fact that they close the outdoor pool at sunset doesn’t help. Had the indoor pool repairs been a couple of weeks -fine, but it’s been too long and it’s not fair to the members. I’m very unhappy with my membership. I’ve referred over 10 people in the last years. I won’t ever be recommending this place anymore. They should have at the very least kept the outdoor pool open later or reduced membership fees temporarily.

Ive been going here for about 6 years and overall have enjoyed the gym. Unfortunately, the never ending closures of the pool, suana, and steam room have me considering ending my membership. The pool and suana have been closed for weeks, and im being told to expect another month untill its open. I found that surprising due to the pool just being closed 6 months prior for several weeks to have the area around the pool resurfaced, which has since been entirely removed...(again, never ending). I came in today to use the steam room since I knew the sauna was closed, but that too was broken. This membership is not cheap, and with many of the ammiedies I come here for being consistently closed, I question why I pay so much money for a incomplete gym.

This is a great family place to hang out at! I love hearing/watching the children's camp leaders playing and/or teaching the children while swimming. These young adults are amazing role models for the children. I have personally witnessed the camp instructors invest in each of the children's lives, which means everything to me as three of my grandchildren are involved in the children's summer camp program. Thank you, LT, for running such an enjoyable camp that's safe and fun and educational. Kids Academy is amazing!

The inconsistencies at this location make it hard to stay on a regimented workout plan. Pools and hot tubs are always being repaired. Not 24hrs anymore. Air quality issues. Spacing issues. If you just want to workout other fitness chains offer better value at a quarter of price.
