Everyone starts somewhere and this is the best place to start.This is hands down my favorite gym. The people who work here because they want to not because they have to! Take advantage if this gym, the people, and everything they have to offer!From the front desk to the back desk.The people that I’ve met and worked with to get me setup include: Tessa, Sage, Bryce, Dom, Jesse Bolte!Everyone there is legit but me personally, I bought the annual membership and the training sessions with Dom and Jesse made it absolutely worth it!I would drive 2 hours, if that’s what it took to attend this gym. 💪🏽

This is a smaller and less crowded location that the other locations that I have been to! I like how this location has a good view and how functional the space is.

Confusing parking being new to the location, outside was a bit sketchy and very different machines from what i am used to at another location. Definitely needs to be updated.

I love Mountainside. I have memberships to others gyms in the area , but this is the one I mostly go to. I’ve been going to this gym for years. I go twice a day and attend several locations. The only problem I have is it’s so hot. The middle of Arizona summer and the thermostat is too hot to workout. Classes are so hot and they have added ridiculous little fans instead of lowering the temperature. Everyone in the classes complain about the temperature being so hot. I have emailed to try and address the situation and have never received a reply. It’s sad that they keep the gym so nice but can’t keep it cool.By the way, another local gym has invested in huge fans and keep their gym cool and I love going to classes there because it’s not hot. Please make it cooler.

I love this gym. I started coming here almost 10 months ago. I HATED going to the gym with a passion because i never knew exactly what to do or was embarrassed to do it wrong. Due to some health issues and to help with my accountability and lack of knowledge, I decided to sign up for a personal trainer which was only supposed to last 3 months. I was set up with Shannon and 10 months later I’m still working with her and have actually increased how many times a week I go. She is AMAZING. Very knowledgeable, friendly, educational and encouraging. I am moving to Texas and won’t be able to train with her anymore but if you’re looking for a PT, ask for Shannon!Gym overall is very clean and seemingly well-kept, machines work as you’d expect and there are a lot of options. Can get pretty busy during certain times and days, but I feel like that’s normal.

One of the best locations for Mountainside Fitness members. It would be perfect if it had a straight path for loaded carry drills and a weighted sled for pulling like the Desert Ridge location. I found alternatives for those exercises, but I do miss having the option. Plenty of machines with similar alternatives and free weights available daily. The group workout rooms are spacious, and the instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. I had the pleasure of working with Shayne Aricayos for personal training. He is an asset to the company and carries himself very professionally. He presented invaluable information about my overall health, body composition, and flaws with my current workout plan/journey. I highly recommend him!

This is a great gym. Best gym I’ve ever joined. It’s big, functional, I hardly have to wait for a machine. Unfortunately for me, having a toddler I can never go. The childcare doesn’t work for us. I’ve tried 3 times. First time, the lady looked miserable. My baby was 8 months and she just stood there with her arms out and a straight face looking very annoyed and she was also arguing with the other employee.. the manager at the time informed me that she was just annoyed with her grandkids. I couldn’t even hand him over because I did not like her energy. Second time he was a little older.. 14 months. There was hardly and kids in the room, and 3 employees. I told them I wasn’t comfortable handing him off who I believe to be the manager now, because of the last encounter.. she confronted me and I felt like she was trying to manipulate me into thinking that I’m the tough hard costumer and she’s having to walk on eggshells to even talk to me, it was a little uncomfortable. When I was working out, I saw on the screen he was just getting ignored when he wanted them to play with him with a ball … they completely ignored him and were just talking to each other.. when I came to get him, the employee mentioned he got a little fussy but she distracted him. isn’t it there job to engage with them a bit? Babies and toddlers just need more attention. If there’s no toddlers in there, and two employees standing around, wouldn’t it make sense for one of them to engage with him so he feels welcome?3rd time, I had a training session and it was pretty busy in there.. all the toddlers seemed miserable lol.. my son was very excited this time but immediately he felt some rejection and lost his mind. The girls had to hold him the whole time to try and comfort him but he just wasn’t having it lol.. it seemed very overwhelming for them and I’m appreciative they tried their best! Some of the girls are nice in there.. but it seems hit or miss. I haven’t tried bringing him back, and I had to buy out of my training session. I think for older kids, it’s great.. but for my toddler, not so much.I also want to note.. the kids room uses wallflowers to make it smell good in there. I saw one of the moms mention that they are toxic. The manager I spoke to before pulled her victim card again with a very fake “I’m so sorry” and confused look on her face, while the other girl said “well it smells like feet and diapers in here so that’s why we use it”Maybe use lavender in a diffuser? Something natural and it’s safe and calming for the babies!

As a long-standing member of the gym for almost a decade now, I have noticed some issues with the behavior of one particular employee towards customers in the past at the gilbert location. I had previously raised concerns regarding his disrespectful behaviors upon a few occasions in the past. However, I am very pleased with the swift and effective response from both the general and district managers to rectify this matter. Their immediate action to address the issue and timely communication with me have been commendable. As a result, I have decided to continue my membership with the Mountainside gyms. I appreciate the effort and dedication towards providing excellent customer service. Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns and I look forward to continuing my positive experience at Mountainside.
