I’ve been going for over a year now. It feels nothing like an LA Fitness type gym. Great no nonsense equipment and powerlifting friendly. The only thing keeping me from rating this gym 5 stars is I wish the hours were 05:00-22:00 every day, not just Mon-Thurs. That would be a huge improvement! Overall, I love Strouds!

I'm visiting a friend from out of town, I have tried different gyms around the area. I have had a great experience here, Kyle was super nice and helpful. The card machine wasn't working so he just let me in for free. Weights are all metal, I liked the environment, being an active duty Marine I really appreciated all the branches flags and that it is veteran own. I am planning to move to DFW area after my second enlistment and will certainly be coming here. Thank you owner and staff for this great gym.

Sales guy is rude. I was late on payments. No problem said I would pay eventually. Never said I was going to go back in the gym without paying and guy starts cussing me out on the phone.

A serious gym for serious lifters. This gym is one of the best-equipped gyms in the DFW metroplex for strength athletes. Dedicated equipment and facilities for powerlifting, strongman, Olympic weightlifting, and bodybuilding with most everything you could ever need. The amenities are great too: a full locker room with showers and sauna, dedicated martial arts dojo, and a multipurpose room with great lighting for technical practice and warm-up. The staff are friendly and carry on the Kirk Stroud legacy with honor. Trainers are available for consultation during all hours for beginners to advanced competitors. I bring all my friends here to train with me, and would love to see you here soon!

Staff was really nice. Gym was filthy. Unfortunately when I signed up I said to Kenzie that I didn’t want to sign a contract because I was moving several months later and wouldn’t meet the year mark. She said to let her know when I was moving and that she would take care of it. I should’ve known better than to sign just on her word. I called last week to cancel and she said she didn’t remember ever saying that. At the end of the day I guess it’s my fault for trusting them and signing. Oh well.

Update; initially said they didn't have a sauna, I was proven wrong. It's right in between the men's and women's locker rooms!TLDR;Pros: Great local gym, has tons of implements you don't often find. Dumbbells go up to much higher weights than the average gym, and there's a bevy of options for great workout equipment. Lots of friendly and dedicated individuals willing to help. Dedicated rooms for heavy Squat/ Bench/ Deadlift, main workout room, posing routine, and a martial arts room.Slight cons: a few cardio machines (~3/20 machines) don't work, and only one old school water fountain, so just make sure you come in already filled up.Equipment Highlights: Hack Squat, Farmer's Carry implement, Pec Deck, T-Bar Row Station, Simulated Sled Cardio machine. The machines available to you, specficially for Legs and for Chest, are fantastic. Hack Squat, Pendulum Squat, Seated Leg Curl, Sissy Squat, various angles for Leg Press, and 4 Squat racks in the back. I also love the Pin Press in the back room, and they have quite a few chains, and a few bands, you can load onto the bars to add accomodating resistance. This isn't a comprehensive list, these are just the ones I haven't seen often in commercial gyms that Stroud's specifically has.I love their Hack Squat machine; I've had a few at other gyms that grind along the inner tracks of one side as you perform reps and it's pretty frustrating. This machine always works smoothly. The Farmer's Carry implement is just that- a I__I shaped implement that you can load hundreds of # onto, with 2 different grips. There seem to be a few similar implements as well, though I've only used one.As for the Pec Deck, instead of the typical grip for a machine flye, this machine has pads for the elbows to press the sides together (in other words, you start with both arms at your sides holding a 90° bend at the elbow like you're mimicking a Field Goal, then crush your elbows together in front of you to perform a rep.) I have to greatly decrease my weight to get reps in correctly, but it feels great for the chest.I've hardly seen these as opposed to the typical machine flye, so I've greatly enjoyed them.Music is typical radio stuff you hear at the gym, no surprise- bring your own headphones.Overall I've loved the gym. You've got plenty of options for building your body up that you don't get at the typical commercial gym.

This is an old-school gym--no frills, but good atmosphere, great equipment, including a monolift and good old racks. They have a powerlifting area, bumper plates, a reverse hyper, strongman equipment, a boxing /martial arts room, and probably a bunch of other stuff I didn't see.Very friendly and casual staff, very affordable drop-in. I forgot some bands here and called them back, and in 5 minutes they called them back and had them ready at the front desk. This is the kind of gym you don't see much in the overpriced DFW market. Lots of extremely fit people of every age here. If I lived closer I would lift here all the time. Philippians 4:13 quote up front = always a good sign.

24hour fitness has no gyms close so I had to kill my membership. Strouds gym is a no frills, blood sweat and tears gym. Lots of equipment, great if you hate waiting on equipment. Staff is knowledgeable if you have questions or need help. I …

The gym equipment is wonderful. However, I have had some major issues. I signed up for a 12 month contract in January 2020. There were no issues with Stroud's Fitness drafting $31.39 out of my account every month, as it should have been. I …
