Being new to the boxing community, it was intimidating at first however, Bare Bones Boxing and all their instructors are very welcoming to all levels of experience. They will work with you to learn the skills while at the same time getting a killer workout. I love the level of energy and uniqueness each instructor brings to their class. Highly recommend to anyone that has been on the fence. Definitely give them a try!

I love Bare Bones, always a good workout & a ton of fun. They're accepting of all experience levels & give modifications for higher & lower difficulty in most classes. They're also involved with the community, showing up to charity events & local fights, plus they offer Rock Steady boxing for fighting the progression of Parkinsons which is cool. Clayton, the owner, is really helpful & gives good feedback. All-around a great business, with a strong community feel. Definitely #1 in CT!

From the amazing workouts, the knowledgeable and talented boxing trainers, the 90s hip hop playlists, to the down-to-earth and genuinely friendly vibe, BB feels like a safe haven from the often-superficial and isolating routines of our current world. If you want a great (read: super challenging!), workout, the cardio boxing classes are awesome for all levels. If you want to learn to fight, you couldn't find a more welcoming, encouraging, and generous group of people to guide and support you. Either way, Clayton, Dwight, Mallory, Antonio, Anthony, and all the other trainers will help you push yourself further than you knew you could go, and inevitably help you build a kind of physical and mental strength that is absolutley invaluable both in and outside of the gym.But most importantly, BB really is a community and a family -- it sounds cliche but there are few places where you'll routinely feel the kind of support, encouragement, and genuine joy that thrives in BB. Clayton makes a point to get to know everyone and he and all the trainers never fail to greet everyone with what truly feels like genuine excitement. When you strip away the pomp and circumstance that seems to define many corporate gyms, you're left with the "bare bones" that BB excels at: real workouts, real training, and real people who truly support one another.

The Rock Steady program for Parkinsons is amazing. It's helpful for movement, mobility, balance and strength no matter what stage of the disease you are at. Instructors Clay, Mallory, Stan, Dwight and Paula use different, but effective workouts. This is a great program for the Parkinsons community. Also a great gym for non Parkinsons community members who want a fun different workout. Clayton the owner and his staff are very friendly and accommodating. I recommend that you give it a try.
