Hartley Drive Family YMCA, located in High Point, NC, offers a wide array of fitness and recreational options catering to both families and individuals. The facility is well-maintained with modern amenities like sauna and individual hot tubs. The youth programs, including after-school activities and summer camps, receive high praise from parents for their quality and effectiveness. However, there are ongoing issues with some staff members' attitudes and the management of the weight and basketball areas, which can impact the enjoyment of members.

While the gym is clean and provides a solid community atmosphere, inconsistent enforcement of policies and the scheduling of court usage can be problematic. Members frequently mention the unprofessional behavior of certain staff and the inconvenience caused by unexpected closures. It’s important to weigh these factors when considering a membership at Hartley Drive Family YMCA.

The staff is friendly, and the courts and gym is well taken care of, I’ve been to other Ys and there basketball courts can’t even compare. But where things get bad is how much the basketball courts get used. Pickle ball takes up the 3 main courts on MOST days, not all days but most of them from open till about 1pm, then volleyball takes up the courts from about 5-5:30 till close. it’s way to many young boys that come to this Y for the courts to be taken up. Also, in the mornings, not only does pickle ball take up the 3 main courts but the remainder of the basketball courts gets taken up by other programs. The weight room gets extremely crowded in the afternoons, going in the mornings is the best but even that seems to be getting kind of packed. Best times to go to this Y is anywhere between 11 till about 3. Youth basketball program is ran just badly, and I mean badly. But like I said before, the place is cleanly and we’ll taken care of, staff is friendly but program scheduling and operations (especially the youth basketball) is just badly managed.

Horrible staff, especially Jody Taylor who drives away anyone who comes to simply workout. She is notorious for her bad attitude and really brings down the value and mission of the YMCA. Avoid this place and find another gym.

I just recently joined (only 3 days in) and The only thing i didn't like is the staff is not very knowledgeable. After finishing up my time on my first day i went to the front desk to get information on the app that is needed to schedule sessions. I asked the girl if they had some type of paper to show instructions and she tells me no. I asked her which app and she tells me search the YMCA i tell her there's alot of them she pulls up the first one she sees on her phone and says that one. I could tell immediately she didn't know. So after that i spoke with a member and she showed me the correct app which isn't even specifically called YMCA its called Daxko when you search it. If your going to hire workers they should have knowledge on the actual job they are doing and they could be a bit nicer as well.

They close the pool/ weight room at random times. So frustrating. I’ve driven there to workout at least 5 times in the last 3 months and been turned away due to “special events” or staffing problems. They do not update their app or notify …

The youth program at Hartley Drive Family YMCA is top notch and worth every single penny I give them. My kids couldn't be happier. We have two children in after school and in Camp Pioneer and they come home completely exhausted, which is awesome. Ally and Lizzie deserve some serious praise. Best money ever spent!

I've been to this Y a few times and liked it. The sauna and individual hot tubs are nice and more modern than most Ys in the Triad. However, the other reviews speak to the unfriendly staff, something i haven't experienced here myself, but …

I've been a member since 1998 and until recently, quite happy. Over the years there have been many remarkable additions and improvements to the facility. Lately I have noticed quite a bit of staff turnover. Membership includes two towels …
