Parents beware. This place only cares about advancing the kids so the academy makes a larger profit. The staff doesn’t communicate and the women up front are rude and act like they don’t have time for you.Son was there for two years and he left his last session in tears. Didn’t understand why everyone else got invitations and he didn’t.Told him I had no idea. Nothing was ever communicated to me about what was going on. Went back inside to ask and was told by the front desk that they didn’t know.Called later and told them to have a coach or someone in charge call me to explain what was going on. Never heard from anyone. Stopped in to speak with the office a week later and was told they are too busy to call me.Canceled on the spot.Do your research and talk to people before taking your kids here.

My daughter has been attending hpga for 6 years. The coaches have always been so encouraging and supportive of her growth. We love being a part of the hpga family.

HPGA is amazing. My daughter went to a different place last year in Greensboro when we heard about HPGA I tried it out. I drive her from Greensboro now because the coaches and instruction is amazing. They teach real technique even in the littles class.

Horrible HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! My 6 yr old’s first day was a nightmare. My daughter got hurt during her 1st day and I wasnt made aware of until my daughter got in the car and started crying (she didn’t want to be embarrassed is why she waited to cry in the car). She ended getting nauseous and so I called the Gym to get an idea of what happened so I could better treat her. The Asian receptionist answered the phone and was by far the most rude person I’ve ever dealt with. She brushed my daughter’s injury off because she said she didn’t see anyone crying when walking out and said it would be late at night before someone would call me back. Once I told her I needed a quicker response because how my daughter was feeling, the same receptionist became very angry and hung up on me. Since we only live 5 mins away, I drove to the gym to get better customer service and an explanation of what happened. The same rude receptionist started escalating her voice and becoming very aggressive with me in front of the entire waiting area full of parents. I eventually spoke to the supervisor who apologized for the incident and the receptionist. I was told the receptionist can be “brash” and was given more apologies. I asked the supervisor if this was common for the receptionist and she said it hasn’t been this bad before, but she can be “brash.” Im blown away with how this lady can speak to a concerned parent the way she did and become so combative. I was given the option to come on days the receptionist wasn’t working (Wednesday and Saturday), but I refuse to pay $100 a month to an establishment that thinks it okay to verbal attack their customers.

I’ve been going here since 2020 in August. It has been the best place I’ve ever seen. It makes me so happy and so many coaches actually care about you and your mental health, there’s so many coaches that make a smile appear on my face every single day

The owner/head coach is emotionally abusive to his gymnast especially if they are injured. The head coach does not encourage parent communication which is a huge problem. If you advocate the mistreatment of your child, you are seen as a trouble maker and he retaliates toward your gymnasts by ignoring them, treating them badly by making negative comments, and even isolating them from the gym, etc. Additionally, there have been racially insensitive comments made in the gym by the head coach to my daughter and others. Such as referring to my child as chocolate and even referencing another black gymnast strength to a gorilla. He has even told my child and one other that I know of he does not respect them because they came in late to practice. Instead of addressing it with the parents, who are the adults, he decides to address little girls who cannot drive themselves. There are several parents that have pulled their gymnasts due to the behaviors I have mentioned and more. I could literally write a book on the insensitive verbal remarks made to my child over the years. The attitude of the head coach has made the environment toxic for many and there have been a few coaches and many gymnasts that have left the gym due to his lack of respect for them and mistreatment of their daughters. Nonetheless, there are good coaches at HPGA but the culture of the gym perpetuates the emotional abuse. No one wants to speak up due to fear of retaliation and lack of clubs in the area. I am still repairing the mental damage that was done to my daughter during her time training with him as her coach specifically during her injury. There are many moments when my daughter was pushed to train while in pain due to fear of speaking up because he would tell her she wasn't really hurt or didn't want to work hard. I do not recommend this gym if you care anything about your child's mental or physical health..

Coaches are not teaching properly , always checks mobile and asking verbally for kids do it without showing / demonstrating how to do it .Not friendly with kids very harsh and they are expecting a lot from 2nd class itself .Overall bad experience , at the end they give some heart stickers to some kids and for some don’t which made my 3 year old crying and not encouraging kids to come for next class. If kids don’t listen sometimes which is natural for 3 year old and coaches are not making them toListen instead making them to sit at one place and talking very rude that makes any toddler to show more angerWould never go back to this gymUpdate : Floor manager Erin did contacted us in this matter and they switched my daughter to another class , the new class teachers are amazing my daughter enjoying going to gymnasticsChanged review rating based on recent experience

My daughter has attended HPGA for several years.. she looks forward to going every day. She has gone from having been a dancer for several years to being an accomplished gymnast under their expert teaching. By its nature, in order to move up levels, gymnastics requires discipline and training. The competitive team works hard! That said, I watch the young children have a great time learning. I look forward to my daughter being at HPGA for many years.

My daughter is a 9 year old level 8 gymnast. At the age of seven she came to me and stated that she wanted to be challenged, pushed and held to a standard that she knows she could reach with the right training. So I went on a mission to find that gym. We were coming from a gym that played around all the time, Coaches on their cell phones constantly. No structure, no gymnast who were offered college scholarships, no growth just a wast of time and money. I have heard many things about Hight Point Gymnastics Academy some good some bad but of course you can’t please them all. But what stood out to me the most was the excellent training they provide. I also knew that my 7 year old had very high expectations of herself and I needed to find the right place that could help her achieve those personal goals she set out to accomplish. I came in for a visit and have been here ever since. If you want a place that really focuses on your child’s development, skill and technique while creating a structured but positive environment this is the place for you. Gymnastics is no cheap sport and as a single mother it’s hard at times, but to know my daughter is getting the best training by Coaches and Staff who really care is all the motivation I need to keep her in. I don’t want a gym that will just pass her by and tell her she’s doing good and her skill is not up to standards. I want a gym that is honest straightforward and tells me exactly what it is not what I want to hear. The one thing I wish I could change, is getting her here sooner. We love HIGH POINT GYMNASTICS ACADEMY and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes her.
