This is a great facility for all seasons. They offer a plethora of group exercises both on the floor and in the pool(s). They have a top-notch gym, and the best of it all is the outside pool with a separate splash/shallow pool area for very young children. And it's all part of your membership. A seasonal membership at any community pool is $400+, so for mw, this only is a huge money saver. I absolutely love it that they have several umbrellas there that provide shade for parents who do not use the pool. It's always brimming with people and children, and it's very popular among the regional YMCAs. Last time we went to the pool, one of the donuts on the rope course in the outside pool was missing, which makes it impossible for children shorter than 5.5. ft to complete the course. I hope that as good stewards of the facility, they will take the time to fix it.

The Kernersville YMCA is the best pool for lap swimming in the Triad. One, it's not crowed like others, so you rarely have to share a lane. You can always walk in and grab a lane. Two, the water temperature is always perfect for lap swimming. Lastly, the staff and management are super nice.

I’m very disappointed in my membership so far. This is the only place in our city that has indoor basketball courts. The problem is, the basketball courts are hardly ever available to use. If they are available it’s some random time during the day, for example from 3pm to 5pm. Nearly impossible for those of us who have regular 8 to 5 pm jobs. Paying $90 month for a family membership with the main purpose to use the basketball courts has been a waste. I’m sure they’ll reply, “you can use any of our other locations.” I get that, but I joined so that I could use my local location at least most of the time. I wish that they would make improvements in this area. I really don’t want to cancel my membership.

Love the pools. Swimming, the gym, and a healthier diet have helped me lose 90 pounds in the last year. Its all about what you make of it. Loves this facility!

First, I have a family membership for my entire household so it isn't cheap for a monthly expense. However, my kids wanted to do swim lessons so I paid the extra for two kids to have the lessons. I should have known this place was a joke from this experience alone. Half of the classes, the mom's, but mostly me, had to attempt to track down an instructor or even the aquatic director. Good luck.... When we did have an instructor show up, it was a different one each time because people weren't showing up for work and not being scheduled for this paid class. No refunds, no apologies, and not even return phone calls. If there's a different person every day, how do you know where the class is? How do you know the progress of the kids? Other classes got certificates and ribbons saying what they could do and if they passed. My kids didn't get anything because they didn't even know it was the last day of class. Every time I got the opportunity to workout, there was no equipment available. And the icing on the top is why I'm leaving a review. I cancelled my membership 3 weeks ago and they just took next month's payment from my bank account. I called to get it straightened out and both people I can talk to are out of town for the next two weeks. I'm not pleased. I'd also add, the locker rooms always smell like feet, the showers smell foul, and lots of people get athletes foot and planter warts there!

I am highly disappointed at the experience that I've had with the membership staff at the Kernersville location. This has not been a one or even two time incident. I have had several negative experiences with membership staff that have left my family and I feeling unwelcomed and unwanted. My kids and I truly enjoy the water park and playground, however to get to those facilities, we have to endure the membership staff and it has been absolutely frustrating on every single visit. The staff members are rude, snappy, condescending and impatient, this is over the phone and in person. There is a visible agitation from the staff members that I've observed when checking into the Kernersville location and the guest waiver process has been an absolute nightmare each time we've brought a guest, the staff members have been rude, impatient and condescending through the process. They become flustered and have snappy and rude comments towards my family and guests.Staff members don't speak to my family when we walk past them, when we enter the building or exit. This has been my experience 90 % of the time. I also get a heavy sense of racism in the air when interacting with staff members. This is super disheartening to my soul.Additionally, my teenage guest was falsely excused of using foul language and reprimanded for it for an extremely rude, condescending and snarky manner. When I came to my guest's defense in a polite manner, the YMCA team member proceeded to get into a back and forth with me in a rude manner. Who does that? Staff members should never get in a back and forth with a member who is paying good money for services. This is totally unacceptable. I also found out that this same staff member starting talking about me out in the open when I left to report her behavior. As stated my family and I have truly enjoyed the water park facilities and would love to continue to visit to enjoy the out water facilities, however I am extremely uncomfortable when interacting with staff members because of the rude manner that we've been treated. I've contacted management about my experiences and I truly hope that this problem is fixed because their slogan for serving all people seems to be false. The unfair and rude treatment that my family has endured seems to be baked into the environment and I pray that it can be turned around quickly.UPDATE: Management contacted me regarding my concerns and they were apologetic which I truly appreciated. I was ensured that my concerns would be addressed with the staff as a whole. This is good news, however I am still apprehensive to go back for a visit since the staff have been consistently rude each time. Hopefully, they will change for the better.

The staff is friendly and the pools are really nice and clean. Summer camp the kids had a blast when they were young I'd do it all over again. Teen camp is really great too they did a lot of fun activities on their level. They have plenty of programs for all ages and they have really great standards.
