I have been participating in CrossFit for about a month and a half before I had to take a trip home to Southern California. I was so worried that I would have to take a week off as I was just getting into the grove of CrossFit. However, someone at my gym said “just drop into a gym down there. After finding out what that meant, I started researching different gyms in Huntington Beach and came across DRS Athletics. I was hesitant at first but the staff at DRS went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and supported every step of the way. I worked mostly with Coach Rosario and Coach Cheryl for the week I was there and they both made me feel like family during my visit. I cannot recommend this gym enough even if you’re a local in town looking to start on your fitness journey or just an out-of-towner looking to drop in. Seeing how the whole community welcomed me just after a week, I know they treat their members like family here (the family you love seeing). The facility was beautiful with all their equipment kept in immaculate condition. I will definitely be back, as I now consider this gym my away from home, home gym.

This place just feels like home! I joined 6 months ago after trying the free two week trial and was instantly hooked. I had done boot camps elsewhere for years and always wanted to try CrossFit but was intimidated. The coaches made the transition “easy”… and it quickly became the highlight of my day. The community is fun, supportive, and uplifting — no matter what class time I attend. The programming challenges me and has allowed me to gain so much strength/endurance.Not to mention, around the time I joined, I began rehabbing an old shoulder injury; without skipping a beat the coaches modified all my workouts until I was cleared to resume working my shoulder. They continuously checked in and held me to my Drs requirements … even when I didn’t want to (haha).This place is a hidden gem and I am thankful for all they do.
