Power of Fitness

This is an "old-school" gym. Large floor plan with a good variety of free weights and machines. A lot of the equipment is old and worn, and patrons don't put plates back in any order. No showers, only changing rooms and lockers. When the weather is good, there is an outdoor area for free weights. But the membership price is low and the staff is friendly but leaves you alone to do your thing. If you are a beginner, try planet fitness, but if you are an experienced weightlifter and don't mind worn equipmemt, it is a good gym. It's located behind Costco at Monterey and Dinah Shore.

Simply the best for those who are serious about a workout! Great gym at a great price! Over 150 pieces of equipment with a super friendly staff and two wonderful weightlifting professional badass woman, Jessica and Jaime, ready to train you. The owner, Joe, is always there to answer questions and help each member. Power of Fitness gives you the Power of self-improvement.

They steal! I had called months ago cause my 1on1 ended in January sent an email on top of that couldn't get threw they kept charging me every month I have a busy schedule and couldn't go in when I finally got thru to someone this month they said I have to show proof I tried to call them even tho I have a new phone and I said well I have a new phone I can show proof I even emailed you and he said we have do not reply best I can do is cancel it now. So they basically took 3 months worth cause my 1on1 training ended first of January it's honestly ridiculous.

Been coming here for over 10 years whenever I'd visit my parents. Since then expanded in size and equipment and still feels like a hometown gym for putting in the work. Owner is dedicated and a great guy.

Lots of space and every piece of equipment you can imagine. Never have to wait to use anything. Love the fresh air coming in from the huge opening out to the outside equipment. Could it be a bit cleaner? Maybe. But, the staff (especially Woodrow who always has a friendly hello and goodbye) and the friendly patrons make up for a bit of dust. It’s a good gym!

If you want clean machines, helpful employees & good customer service don't come here. Entrance desk employee too busy looking at his cell phone to even look up when I checked in, had to engage him first. Empty water bottle on machine, watched at least 5 people not clean their machines when finished and not one employee noticed all on cell phones, on laptop or talking to one another. In the customers' defense there is no signage regarding customers cleaning their machines when finished, that could help. Again, too busy on cell phone and laptop, too lazy to get off their bums and just scan the place every once in awhile for trash, dirty machines and to see if anyone needs assistance. Was there a couple of days ago, two women at desk. Again entrance desk employee didn't even look up...you guessed it, too caught up in her cell phone to greet a customer. During my time there I looked around a few times, no one at desk, didn't see one employee and the other was on the machines working out. My point is this is the least professional gym with the worst customer service I have ever visited. Employees could at least greet those who pay to keep the place open and ask "could I help you with anything, answer questions you may have about out gym, etc?" At least inform customers about cleaning their machines. Fortunately I do not pay for a membership as it is covered by my health insurance. If I did have to pay for a membership I would certainly look for another gym.

This gym looks like it has never been clean. All the machines are filled with dust, the bathrooms are very disgusting. Don’t come here expecting it to be clean and all the equipment to be in good condition.

This is a great gym! Friendly ownership and a personal touch! I have been here with my wife and kids for 7 years now. I played a collegiate sport and can say that this gym has everything you need from free weights, cardio, classes and cross fit. It is not a big corporate & impersonal place, but more of a community. This is not to say that everyone is standing around socializing. People are serious about their fitness, and dedicated to putting in the work. In my mind, it is An owner-operated, throwback gym, that appeals to all ages. I won’t go anyplace else, and highly recommend it to my friends!

Okay so I have been signed up to this gym for two months now. Most of the staff are friendly and great, there are a couple of them who ignore you, but for the most part the staff are awesome. The gym itself is very spacious and has tons of equipment which I love, however, half the time the cardio machines are not turned on so you do have to figure out how to turn them on yourself. I do like that this gym does not have strict rules and does feel welcoming. The equipment can be dirty sometimes, but they do clean them from time to time and provide disinfectant spays all over the gym with paper towels to clean machines yourself. The cost is higher than Planet or EOS and is a contract, but it means its not as crowded, which I like and I can actually get workouts done in a timely manner. They do take out your monthly payment at a random time, not around the same time each month, but I know that I pay that amount each month so its to be expected anyway. The hours are decent, the only thing is I wish it were 24 hours but its good. Overall, I think I will renew my contract when the time comes maybe.., I'd rather do a month to month membership personally, so hopefully they have that option in the future. I was told you are stuck in the contract and the only way to cancel is if you move out of the Coachella valley and have to provide proof in person to cancel, there is a cancellation fee as well.

This gym is an absolute jewel! Lots of equipment, plenty of space and multiple venues available, including a generous outdoor workout area. On top of all of that Ken and Joe the owner couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. Sanitary with everything you need to get the job done plus very reasonable membership fees to boot. I give this place my highest recommendation!
