Located in the heart of Burien Town Plaza, LA Fitness offers a wide variety of classes, friendly staff, and a clean environment. The gym’s affordable membership and helpful front desk staff are significant advantages. Despite this, overcrowding and the need for more equipment, especially during peak hours, are common concerns. Trainers and some fitness classes receive high praise, but customer service and maintenance need improvement.

Though membership and facilities are generally well-maintained, the showers require better upkeep. The gym frequently gets crowded, and members sometimes face issues with re-racking weights and poor gym etiquette. For those seeking diverse workouts and a welcoming community, LA Fitness remains a good choice, but improvements in management and culture could elevate the experience even further.

Pros:

  • Friendly and helpful staff.
  • Clean equipment and space.
  • Affordable membership.
  • Wide variety of classes.
  • Central location with available parking.
  • Personable trainers.
  • Good maintenance by cleaning crew.
  • Pleasant sales staff, not pushy.

Cons:

  • Gym often crowded, especially during peak hours.
  • Poor shower maintenance.
  • Inconsistent customer service experience.

The manager in burien is very rude and disrespectful and they are shady. They said we can’t cancel the trainer program, we didn’t even know the trainer was a contact and they didn’t tell us anything about that, they’re shady. The manager acts like AI not like a human. We talked the AI not a human. The manager made me look uncomfortable by staring at me, he talks like a robot and he acts like one.

One of my favorite LA fitness centers! Very freindly staff, clean equipment and clean space. Some benches can be upgraded though as they are ripped but I understand lots of people workout everday here.

None of these employees that answer the phone know anything about free gym pass or information to signing up. What kind of business doesn't know what they're selling gym memberships. Because everyone acts so dumdfounded it turns into these employees at this gym are too lazy or dont care to learn the basic info on enrolling. They make it so hard and complicated to try to sign up. And their sales rep. Is never available or always bussy. This is a bad gym to try to signup at not worth the headache or enrolling save your money for a better gym.

Was good at first, a couple weeks went by then the quality of maintenance and service went out the window. I personally had to use axe on a few machines just to use them, this isn't comic con but wow. Do you work 9-5? Well good luck canceling your membership, but wait that's not all. You can't cancel on the phone or app no you have to go in person. Also enjoy the $50 maintenance fee taken out on top of your membership at your one year mark that they don't disclose. Refund? Absolutely Not... Then they treat you like absolute garbage when you want to cancel. My Rating: 1/5

If I could give them 0 star I would. I had a trainer take a $300 monthly check and only workout with me 15 minutes and act extremely rude when I wouldn’t get toned results, as if he was teaching me something, laughable. And customer service desk is even worst, they are the meanest, and most unfair people. I don’t know why kindness is not important, but to any front desk reading this, kindness is very important and you should practice it.

Decent for what it is. Certain times can be busier than others but I feel like I found a sweet spot on weekdays.4 hamstring curl machines and only 2 leg extension machines makes no sense to me.Good luck finding a bench in the free weight section. The staff are nice.

Overall gym and equipment are great but the showers are sketch… most stalls have no curtains at all, often with empty body wash. The one stall that had a shower curtain, someone cut 3 holes in them..

Lots of students at certain hours, no bad experience. Better here in the gym than elsewhere. Weights not re-racked is an annoyance. Personable trainers. The whirlpool needs to be cleaned more daily. Diverse group of people. Strength in diversity. IMHO, better than West Seattle LA Fitness.

The good:- Gym is centrally located and most of the times there is parking available.- Front desk staff is pleasant and helpful.- Sales people are not obtrusive or pushing unnecessary services.- Membership is affordable.- Lost my stuff at the gym multiple times and it always made its way to the front desk.- Plenty classes and cleaning crew is always trying to keep the place up.The bad:- This gym is crowded. Most of the times machines, benches and stations are occupied .- People often sit on stations and look at their phones for lengthy periods of time without working out. There are sitting benches available but are rarely used by phone lookers. This gym could really use awareness building posters.- Commonly members “reserve” stations by leaving bottles or some other item on the machine/bench while they circle workout. This is a very undesirable habit at any gym.- Few people working out barefoot, in socks or flip flops. It’s not a deciding factor but worth a mention. To summarize, Burien really needs another big gym. This existing one needs improvements in gym culture and members' awareness.
