High energy space that gets you out of your comfort zone in the best way. I was a novice to weight & functional training but Jonathon made me feel at ease both in the gym & via online trainings.He knows how to work with any level, newbie to athlete.He himself is an elite athlete with a great personality - which make his kick a** workouts fun. #raaaah.the whole vibe is a happy one. thanks STLA

I started training with Jonathon during an extended trip to LA and I’d highly recommend STLA. I hadn’t done personal training before and I appreciated that he took time to initially understand my goals (strength training and balance) and then he curated the workout accordingly. As a former NFL player, he has a wealth of expertise in training and nutrition.STLA has a lot of resources to build a sustainable routine. There’s an app with daily workout plans and options to do virtual personal training — all of this is helpful if you’re traveling and want to maintain a consistent fitness regimen.I’d also recommend this gym for the opportunity to support a local business and entrepreneur. Jonathon’s top priority is to create a community feeling in his gym and it always feels like a welcoming environment. He makes a point of introducing any new people at the gym - especially during the boxing classes.

This place is outstanding as a facility but even better with the personal trainer and owner Jonathan. My 10 year old soccer player daughter has been training with Jonathan for about 9 months now and I have seen such a positive change. In her attitude, work ethic, and physical ability. Jonathan is amazing with her, motivating her and pushing her to be her very best. My daughter is so lucky she found Jonathan. She loves training with him and looks forward to her next session.

STLA gym is the best! I love coach Jonathan Amaya. He is so passionate about fitness and helping you get into better shape. I always tell everyone about my ex-NFL star personal trainer. Jonathan has helped both my physical and mental health by pushing me past what I thought was possible. I would highly recommend this gym to all my friends and family.

I couldn’t imagine a better trainer than Jonathon. Having worked with him for a year now, I’m really happy with how I feel and how strong I’ve gotten. He’s so nice and focused on your health that it’s inspiring (and can make you work hard)! As a bonus, the gym has a sense of community that’s really special. I definitely recommend STLA!

I have been working out with trainer Jonathan Amaya for around 3 years now. He is truly the BEST! He works with me and my shortcomings ( 2 knee replacements and one ankle replacement) and we manage to train effectively and I’ve gained a lot of confidence in my abilities that I never thought I could overcome. He’s a true motivator and I find myself trying to accomplish what he sets as our goals!I highly recommend him!!!

I've been training with Jonathon for almost a year. He's hands down the best trainer I've ever worked with. He's attentive, encouraging and so passionate about what he does. The variety of exercises have helped me grow stronger in so many ways. I always leave the gym feeling accomplished and look forward to going every week!

I highly recommend Jonathon as a personal trainer. I started with STLA three years ago and have continued virtual workouts since moving away. Jonathon creates a welcoming community at STLA where we all encourage each other. His workouts push me physically AND mentally - I’ve been able to tackle many of life’s challenges with Jonathon’s guidance.

It’s very rare that you will have an owner of a gym that’s as hands on as Jonathon. He knows exactly how to help you achieve your fitness goals as long as you stick with the plan he maps out for you. Whether you’re a mother of 2 or a student-athlete, he WILL help you get better, faster, stronger - whatever your fitness goals may be, he’ll help you achieve. Couldn’t recommend STLA gym enough.

I’ve been working out with Jonathan for 5 years now. When I first met him, I weighed 200 lbs, could not do a single push-up, and had a bad rotator cuff injury. I thought I was going to need surgery but he worked with me consistently to fully recover my shoulder. He’s also helped me overcome a bad tennis elbow injury.I can now do over 30 push-ups and at 48 years old I am proud to say I’m in the best shape of my life.His understanding of the body and exercise is something very special. Any pain or tightness I have he works with me to find the source of the problem. Often tight muscles can be the cause pain elsewhere in the body, and his understanding of where to look and how to fix them has opened my eyes to the interrelatedness of the body. There have been times going into the gym, where I was so tight he shut the whole workout down and pulled out the massage gun and the massage table. It may sound nice but trust me you’d rather be working out. Releasing a tight muscle can be painful, but once he finds and fixes it, you’re off to the races again, instantly sometimes.His workouts are whole body workouts. They are not negatively impactful to your body but that does not mean they are easy. He will push you to where you want to be. Since he is passionate about his own workouts he continuously incorporates his findings into your workouts. You will not be doing the same workout twice. Ever.I do think Jonathan is the best personal trainer in LA. My wife has been an exercise instructor for 20 years and she agrees. You simply won’t find someone with this passion for exercise, knowledge of the body, and attention to detail all in one package. On top of that, he’s a great guy that cares about people. I left LA 2 years ago, and have still been doing workouts 2 days a week via FaceTime. If you want results definitely workout here, you won’t be wasting your time.
