Training here has done wonders for my physical and mental health. Thank you TBI!How I got started:I had pretty much zero martial arts experience prior. After reading the positive reviews on google maps and checking out the helpful content on the website, I dropped in for a trial class. They provided hand wraps, gloves, and all the other necessary equipment.Attending class:After my trial, I signed up for a membership and monthly plan. Class consisted of jump rope, stretch, and learning techniques with partners using gloves and shin pads. The coaches provide high quality lessons in a respectful, fun manner. The environment is safe, respectful, fun, and engaging. The other gym members are also friendly, respectful, and helpful. Kind of the perfect place to learn.I highly recommend trying it out. You don’t need to be in good shape to start.

For physical preparation and to learn more about Muay Thai, I made the decision to check out this gym, and I'm glad I did. Every coach is incredibly friendly and inviting. While still instructing you in proper techniques and form, they make the sport enjoyable and entertaining. I constantly look forward to the next lesson and enjoy every minute I spend in the gym. It feels like a big family here at the Thai Boxing Institute, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Been training muay thai for almost 10 years. My first gym closed during the pandemic and the last year I have been training at TBI with coach Vic and his team and I have been extremely happy. Everyone at the gym is courteous, helpful, and friendly. The new facilities have lots of space and are clean and organized. The students range from seasoned professionals to beginners and there are classes to accommodate all levels of experience. If you are looking for a place to train on the west side, this is it!

Absolutely love this place. I joined earlier this year with zero prior experience and have had an awesome time. All of the coaches are so welcoming, patient and kind. The classes are a great workout, you learn a ton, and most importantly they’re fun. My only regret is that I didn’t join sooner!

This is a Muay Thai gym that attracts experienced and neophyte devotees. This is the gym that could. They have trained quite a few people to enter competitions both local and abroad and win!!! Even if you just want a workout, the attention to detail and technique as well as your progress is a priority. THIS IS NOT A McDOJO. Very nice group of people too. Respectful and friendly. The students all seem to have a very good mindset. The little kids seem to enjoy it a lot too.UPDATE The Thai Boxing Institute recently moved to a larger nicer space, on 3831 Grandview Blvd.

Coach Vic and his team are all incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. Whether you’ve trained 5 days or 5 years, the coaches at TBI will help get the best out of your technique and conditioning. Definitely my go-to spot for training Muay Thai when I’m in LA.

I have been attending TBI since February of this year. In that short period I cannot believe how much I have improved my skills, and how much my love of Muay Thai has grown. Not only are the coaches knowledgeable, but the classes are extremely well structured and managed. Coach Vik releases a monthly curriculum so you know what you are in for, which makes scheduling visits for the weeks ahead really easy for those of us who are planners.I started off on a 3 day a week membership, but decided to try a full time membership a few months ago and never looked back. I basically live there now :).TBI is safe, welcoming and perfect for those who are serious about learning Muay Thai.

I trained here for about 2 years with Vik and it made me fall in love with Muay Thai. The coaching and the community is great; I don't even live in LA anymore and I will drive 2 hrs to come train here when I can. It is a home away from home.** update as of May 2022 **I now come here for 6 or so weeks for my fight camps to train with Vik and the team at TBI. I couldn’t get to the level of competition I am at without their guidance and help. It isn’t only an environment for fighters, it is for everyone and everyone is friendly no matter their skill level.

Going to TBI has been so educational, fun, and rewarding. The coaches are helpful, experienced, kind, fun, and always make me feel like I'm learning. The folks who go there are also so kind and helpful - they're welcoming to newcomers and it definitely feels like a tight little community. I've made TBI my main source for fitness/my main gym, outside of lifting on my own. I'm stronger, have a higher endurance, and am learning Muay Thai techniques from my short time being here.Coach Vik, Coach Javi, and Coach Jeannie are AWESOME, and are accommodating for all levels
