In the months I've been attending BBA's adult class, I've never felt anything short of total encouragement and non-judgement from both the instructors and the other students. The atmosphere and culture there is focused but friendly, and it's truly a joy to attend class there.

Our kids have been going to BBA after school for years. My oldest will be graduating elementary school with a black belt in karate and lifelong friends. I can’t say enough about how amazing this program has been for our kids but what’s truly incredible is how they teach kids to then motivate other kids and become role models in their program. My boys truly look up to the instructors (shout out to Mr Blackmore and Ms Happel) and now have younger kids looking up to them. What started out as a hurried attempt at finding after school care morphed into a wonderful community. We are so lucky to have come across this place that has nurtured our children to become better humans all while keeping them active and teaching them discipline!

Friendly and knowledgeable instructors with an impressive amount of martial arts knowledge. They have a very strict system for training the people teaching the martial arts so the person doing the teaching isn't just any Black Belt. It's someone who took time to actually learn how to teach.The curriculum is varied and takes into account the potential for the martial arts to be used in actual self defense. Though some parts of the class focus on being more performative, they are supplemented by other, very practical exercises.Finally, they're also great with kids. They run an after school program that picks kids up from school, provides them with supervision, and gives them a chance to learn new skills and expend some energy via the included karate class and activities. On top of that they also run a state certified summer camp.

Black Belt America is great!! My 7 year old son loves it here. He has more confidence, very focused, and enjoys the class. The instructors are awesome and welcoming.

Black Belt America provides a very fun, energetic and positive experience. Our six year old absolutely loves it. The structure and focus of each class provides a great learning environment, not to mention 30 minute of engaged exercise. We would highly recommend Black Belt America.

We are still new to the BBA family, and our initial impression is excellent! The facility is clean & functional. The staff are helpful & informative. Most of all, my kids are having a great time. They can't wait for karate class to earn their stripes & belts.UPDATE: After six months with BBA, we are still loving them! So much so, now I am in the adult class, and it's a blast! The new facility is amazing, and the staff & instructors continue to be excellent. Looking forward to sticking around for the long haul to earn my black belt!

We have two kids that have attended BEST After School, Summer Camp, and virtual learning and have had great experiences. They are currently doing virtual karate classes via Zoom and love the flexibility.

BBA charges more than any other MA school and delivered the WORST martial arts in Madison! You have many GOOD martial arts schools close by. Mr./Mrs.Wideman are the worst of the worst scam artist. If you wan't your child to have a good education, go anywhere else please!I have been in martial arts for over 20 years, and I am fed up with these type of mc-dojos and belt factories that give belts based on the money they get. This place is the worst of them all!!!

BBA has been able to adapt to the conditions of the pandemic to allow kids to continue their martial arts practice either distantly in-person or via remote sessions. That in itself is admirable, but BBA doesn't stop there! The owners have also been extremely flexible with understanding family situations and making accommodations during these uncertain times.

Our son has been a student at Black Belt America for over six years. Studying karate and jiu jitsu at BBA has been great for his focus, self-discipline, and self-confidence. He'll be testing soon for his second degree black belt, and will be studying at BBA for years to come!
