Boulders Climbing Gym - East is okay. I've climbed at gyms all around the country, and unfortunately, this is near the bottom in terms of route and equipment quality.I understand it is an old facility, so they're doing the best with what they have, but the gym is not big. The walls are 40 feet max. and lead routes average 3 bolts (although I wouldn't feel safe taking a fall from the bottom 2 of that 3). The layout of the gym leads to bouldering and roped climbing overlapping each other in multiple locations leading to dangerous scenarios for all involved. Boulder problems often are set with 4 or 5 routes ending on the same hold. This isn't a great idea in general for making an efficient wall, but with space already at a premium here, it is not a wise choice. I get it's just a gym and the holds are plastic, but some of the holds here feel like glass under your hands and feet. Maybe I'm reading too much into this point, but I thought the idea was to at least sort of mimic real rock texture.Positives include decent route setting. It's a small space with some wonky features so they are sort of forced to get creative which can lead to fun problems and routes. There is a decent amount of auto belays relative to the rest of the roped routes for those climbing alone. Most of the 3 stars comes for the staff. Everyone I have interacted with has been awesome and friendly. The gym seems to foster a great community and is extremely open and supportive of all walks of life. It's the only spot in town, so it's good enough to keep coming back.

Can’t help but feel like i just wasted $25 and an hour of my life! This is arguably the worst climbing gym I’ve ever been to - and I’ve been to quite a few. The rope walls are the height of most bouldering walls, the holds are old and worn …

A lot of the routes do not have a grade assigned. At least not today. No i am not using your app and getting chalk on my phone while I climb lol. There is really no place to sit down when you need to rest and it is very …

I've always enjoyed this place, but it's been a couple of years, and they've made it better! The old hard-ish crash pad has been replaced with nice padding worthy of stunt people. There's more auto- belays. The routes aren't full of flags. …

Clean, people were respectful, climbs were well labeled, had different types of climbing. The sink outside of the bathrooms is brilliant. It allows you to wash the chalk off your hands without going into the restroom.

Staff was very welcoming and quick to help with belay and lead test for us. The facility is a bit of a let down. Walls were much shorter than expected for a gym offering rope climbing and anchor placement often didn’t match up with the routes very well. Route grading was accurate. This 3 star rating reflects our impressions as rope climbers forced indoor by rain. We didn’t try the Boulder routes and can’t comment on them.

Overall, I love both Boulders locations. The downtown one is a bit more modern, which the east location is quite a bit more dated, despite the recent renovations. There is quite a bit of bouldering, which lots of different wall types and …

Boulders is a great climbing gym for climbers of all levels!! The East location has top rope routes (harnessed) - which vary in difficulty. The facilities are always clean, but can get a little crowded. I would definitely recommend trying it out!

Boulders on the east side (vs downtown) is the best for young kids as they can both boulder (free climb) and auto belay (hook their harness up to rope/support). Downtown just has the bouldering (free climbing) which is harder for younger kids given their size, route placements, etc.The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. You can rent gear there - they have all sizes! There is also a discounted rate for kids but it's fun for the whole family. They'll give you a quick orientation so you can independently climb the balance of your visit. Early mornings are the least busy in our experience and our kids are easily engaged for 60-90min. Lots of great, active fun!

First time climbing at this gym, and really enjoyed myself. The staff were super friendly and informative, and the gym was very open and well laid out. Honestly if I lived in the area I would come back here regularly. They have ample storage cubbies for all of your stuff while there, and great pricing even if you’re just going for the day. Check this gym out if you’re able too!
