Andrea, thank you for explaining to me that when you left us you had some personal reasons including being allergic to Scruffy, the studio cat. Sometimes it is hard to hear constructive feedback but I always learn from it and use it as a way to improve. I wish you only the best.

I highly suggest you giving this place a try! Not only is the work out great, but the environment is clean, and the men and women who work out there are so friendly and welcoming! Mad power training has easily become one of my favorite places to work out with my favorite people! The owner Amy Sanborn is amazing!

I have been very closely involved with Madpower Training Center for four years. I began as a member in December 2016, and later became an instructor- from October 2018 until recently- teaching up to 5 classes a week. My hopes in writing this review is to finally expose the illegal, unsanitary, and completely unprofessional environment that I have been privy too; and hopefully, to prevent any potential member from investing time and money into this business. When I began at Madpower as a member, I was drawn to it because of the wonderful instructors that were teaching there at the time. The undeniable energy that group fitness offers is enticing to most. However, even as a new member, I noticed the degree of unprofessionalism from the owner, Amy Sanborn, that I believe will be what eventually causes the demise of this business that had great potential.Amy is controlling, she is a micromanager, and she thrives on drama. There is no gossip that is off limits; and her degree of favoritism of certain staff have cause strife and a lack of community in what she falsely labels her "Tribe". Additionally, in order to manipulate to get her way, Amy is verbally and emotionally abusive. She often sends discombobulated rants in which she accuses, berates, and places blame where it isn't deserved (yes, even to members). She is known to shame and embarrass members and instructors alike if she finds out that they have worked out at another gym while a member of Madpower. Further, she has a cat living at the studio (at one time there were two of them) who is not always continent; causing the studio to wreak of cat urine. After receiving many complaints about the cat(s), Amy once again defers blame to her members; saying their exercise mats are what is causing the smell of cat urine. The staff turnover that has occurred as a direct result of Amy's actions has been exponential; and frankly, speaks for itself. Since 2016, at least 13 staff members have quit, and over 100 members have ended their memberships. The most concerning element of this business, however, has come since the pandemic started. As a Nurse Practitioner, I have always felt an obligation to make safety a priority while teaching my classes. Since Covid began, Amy has always been oppositional about her belief in masks; saying she doesn't feel members get a true workout while wearing them. To this day, Amy continues to hold classes with up to 15 unmasked members in an enclosed 97° room, performing high intensity interval training exercises, with little regard to cleaning, basic safety, proper social distancing, or infection prevention. In October, when I myself contracted Covid as a result of exposure at Madpower (even though I wore my mask religiously), I persisted in my efforts for Amy to require universal mask use at the studio. When I informed Amy of my positive Covid result, her first words were, “Do not tell anyone. Do we even have to reveal this?” I repeatedly explained to her that she is facilitating an environment where people are getting sick. Unfortunately, my attempts continued to be met with resistance, denial, and now- termination of my employment as a Madpower instructor. I feel that her goal is for anyone who might make any “noise” about what she is doing (allowing) to just “go away”.Amy is concerned about two things: herself and her business. She cares nothing about your well-being as long as you are paying a membership fee or benefiting her in some capacity. Importantly, the majority of the positive Google reviews you see posted for Madpower are from staff and members whom Amy has offered incentive for posting; some of whom are her family members and personal friends who have never stepped foot in the studio as a member (I know this to be a fact).Save yourself the money...and the headache. There are lots of fantastic gyms in the Madison area with honest, dedicated, hardworking leaders that deserve your support.

Best gym in town! Joined in May and wish I joined sooner. Every time I workout, it’s a different sequence and never boring. Amy is very encouraging and enthusiast during the workout! Be prepared to sweat.. cause you will (a lot).

I recently joined MadPower in October and officially became a member in November! All I can say is joining MadPower is one of the best decisions I’ve made especially during these unusual times. The awesome owner Amy Sanborn along with the rest of her trainers and members were so welcoming and helpful upon me joining! Being able to come to MadPower and train with such an amazing and kind group of people has really helped lift my spirit through these times and keep me having a healthy lifestyle and mindset. Especially getting down and groovy during MadDance!I myself am cautious about covid and being at MadPower I know that I am in a safe environment. Based off the small time I have been here I have seen how hard working Amy is on keeping this gym and her tribe safe by enforcing the wearing of masks and social distancing. She has recently gone above and beyond to make it possible for us to still get our workouts in even though we are no longer in a group setting/class.Thank you Amy and MadPower Tribe. You guys are the best!

MadPower classes keep me consistently strong and motivated. From the powerful temperatures to the party lights and music, the big studio shows what great group fitness is all about. And whenever I need to slow down, focus, and just plain sweat a little, the smaller Zen Den is a perfect spot for yoga and yin.

Madpower offers life changing workouts all within your ability. It's a great unique workout that targets strength and cardio. Absolutely love Madpower! What makes Madpower 5-star fitness center to me is that you become part of a family. Amy is so inviting and friendly to everyone that walks in her door. Amy and the other instructors always have a fun positive approach to each session you can't help but to finish with a large smile on your face. The facility is welcoming and clean. The locker rooms are first class. I'm thankful, Amy the owner, has continued to stay open during COVID by strictly following the state/county guidelines. I feel completely safe attending class during these crazy times.

This is my home away from home. The place I go to focus on me and get both my mind and my body healthy. The Members are wonderful. I feel supported and totally comfortable each time I enter the studio. The instructors are high energy and well educated on form. They give awesome cues to ensure injury prevention and positive motivation through the class. Have I mentioned how fun the classes are and the music? It’s the best part - party lights, music the energy is exhilarating!!! I highly recommend MadPower to anyone looking for a fun and effective place to hit their goals. I am very thankful to be a part of this tribe. 💗
