Madtown is hands-down the best gym I've been to. I went to the Princeton club for about 1.5 years, and as a bodybuilding gym, it's better than the Princeton club in every way.The quality and variety of the equipment they have is fantastic, and they're continually adding more and upgrading what they have to make it better. Even the basics are better; the barbells are standardized and marked, they actually have good knurling, and the they're marked for use for competition lifts. The benches and squat racks are all top-quality EliteFTS equipment, and the dumbbells are all iron, no rubber. If you're a powerlifter, they have Ivanko kilo plates to train with. As a bodybuilder, they have everything you could need. Just for quad training, they have linear hack squats or varying angles, linear leg presses or varying angles, pendulum/swing squats, super squats, squat/hip presses, and leg extensions. The only thing Madtown still needs is a men's locker room. There's currently a women's locker room and a men's bathroom, but the men's locker room is still under construction since the owner has prioritized upgrading the equipment. This isn't a big deal for me personally.Madtown has no business being as good as it is for the membership fee they're charging. If you're passionate about strength or physique sport, Madtown is by far the best gym in Madison for you.

Dan is a fantastic guy to work with. He has a ton of options for equipment and has equipment that I haven't seen at any other gym. He's always looking to improve the space and get more options for equipment as well. Definitely recommend!

Easily the best gym in Wisconsin. Pretty sure he'd give those sissies at MadHouse Gym and DMV Iron a run for their money too. Maybe the best gym in the universe now that I think about it.
