West Coast Berryessa is a great place to train in martial arts! Not only does one develop their physical strength, but character qualities are also developed. The instructors are great and there are many good activities that push the martial artists to exceed their limits. Definitely recommended!

We have been sending our kid there for over four years. It's a great environment for learning respect, self confidence, and the Martial Arts. We have grown very fond of the instructors as they deeply care about the success and well being of the students.

I have kids that have been attending since they were little Dragons and are now Blackbelt Candidates. I have another child starting his little Dragon journey. As a parent watching my shy kids learn mix marital arts, I was able to see them grow into very athletic and confident children. They’re doing things that they didn’t think they can do which as a parent, I like to see because it takes them out of their comfort zone. It pushes them to at least put in the effort to try, to improve, to better themselves by having the confidence, the grit, the tenacity to succeed. These are great skills to have in life. The instructors are great! I’ve seen instructors come and go as they continue their own journey in life. However, head instructor, Truong Nguyen, makes sure new instructors teach at the same mastery level so students do not miss a beat with curriculum. The instructors are patient, kind, but disciplined. The class schedule offers great flexibility throughout the week for busy parents. My kids learn time management between activities. They need to finish school work before any extracurricular activities they’re doing. Another great skill my kids are learning is working with other children as they assist the instructors during other lower belt level classes. To teach is to master a skill because they’re able to present and pass their knowledge unto another. To work with people so they all can be one voice, one sound. To be one team! It’s another valuable lesson they’re able to learn. My advice to parents is not to see it as activity where they can be kid free for a few hours a week. In addition to having you time, it's a great program that offer my kids a great activity outside of the home to work on skills that they can develop early and practice it throughout life from being patient to maximizing their efforts and having the wherewithal to overcome adversity to accomplish great things throughout our children’s lives.

I signed up my daughter when she’s only four and a half years old and she still going. Almost 5 years now. I’ve witnessed so much growth in her especially in her confidence. Instructors and staffs are awesome! I love every one of them. Friendly and helpful! My daughter goes every day, that’s how much she loves it. Not only she gained with knowledge in self-defense and discipline. She gained a FAMILY! Someone who she can look up to and know that there a place for her when she needed support.
