I used to really enjoy this location, but since covid they've adopted a policy that empty studios have to be locked when an instructor isn't actively teaching in them, so they can't be used to do yoga or stretch like every other Y in the metro area. I'm sure this is because the staff make zero effort to check the behavior of loud and obnoxious unaccompanied teens running rampant in every other common area. The locker room decibel level alone is enough to make me reconsider my membership and switch to an adult gym so I don't have to listen to them shout every kind of slur in the book back and forth at each other.

This place doesn't treat their employees well and the pool is always closed. I wanna swim. Someone named Sultan overcharged me. I don't appreciate that. Also there's never any parking. 1 star, would not recommend

Happily impressed with the Blaisdell YMCA. I love the Wednesday evening cycle classes with Lana - I definitely feel part of the community when coming here! The facilities are in good shape.

Get ready for $76 a month to experience unattended children, cramped locker rooms, and equipment that always seems to have a problem. The staff is nice but this place needs HELP.

This Y is been amazing and kind from the front desk staff to the janitors.Good parking, clean lockers, and equipment.Just go workout when it’s not during busy hours and you’ll be good.

Overall this is an excellent place to workout. It's usually not overcrowded, and they have enough squat racks that I never have to wait to use the barbell for squats or bench presses. There are a few staff members that are very friendly and welcoming. My only real critique is that they don't do a good job of keeping kids from playing around in the weightlifting area. On one occasion two kids (they looked to be around 10-12 years old) were pulling on the cable machiene then lauching themselves into the air. One of the managers of the Y was there giving a tour to someone, and he didn't say anything. Eventually someone who was working out came over and told the kids to stop.

Awful experience. In town for a week and came to work out and the front desk could provide zero help getting a day pass or a week pass or even a month pass. Literally referred me to a different gym. Said it was due to pandemic policies and that the Y lost so much money even though it’s 2022. Doesn’t seem like it’s going to help them recover if they turn away new customers at the front door?

I attempted to put my five year old son into the Summer Power program. We had a terrible experience at the first day drop off. The staff was incompetent, to the point where I couldn't leave him in their care safely. Repeated attempts to discuss what happened were ignored, and my money went down the drain. This is not a safe place to leave your young child. I was so disappointed.

My kids have been swimming at the Y for several years, with a break during Covid. When we registered for lessons again we missed out on getting in at a preferred facility. We had been to the Blaisdell before and had an ok experience so were ok with settling for classes here. This time around this facility had a computer glitch and made it so their classes were overbooked. We ended up on a different day and time. We are three weeks into the session and between the inconsistency of the front desk staff and arbitrary enforcement of the check in policy and the randomness we encountered of who teaches the class each time, we are really hoping to either get into a different facility or we will withdraw from lessons altogether. The deck manager worked hard to meet the needs of all who registered. She has good customer service skills and was able to smooth out teacher consistency issues. There are also homeless encampments developing near the parking lot. Overall, using this facility is difficult.

My gym is the downtown one but this one is much better for me because of the parking and I love walking in the track when it's not so crowded. The ppl at the front desk are much more friendlier than the staff from downtown (makes you feel welcome). Although the gym downtown us bigger with more equipment...I'd recommend the Blaisdell gym.
