I have been gym climbing for the past year and have been in many rock climbing gyms in different states. If I had to describe this place it would be inaccessible and uncomfortable. I took a break from climbing for two months and came here with some friends. The gym was hard to find and there was very little signage. Routes were weirdly labeled and almost none were accessible to beginner climbers and those getting back into the sport. While staff was kind, we felt glared and stared at the entire time. Music and rooms had a weird silent quality that also made us uncomfortable. This may have just been our standalone experience, but we left weirded out and semi-disappointed.

Freestone is my home away from home! Great setters, great boulders, great routes and an excellent staff. Climbers are fortunate to have a gym like Freestone. And now the renovation for the new boulder area is finished enough to host a huge competition! And soon enough, there will additions for rope climbing!

Came to missoula on a little weekend getaway and decided to check out Freestone with my two-year-old. I wish I caught the name of the employee at the front counter to praise them because of how wonderful, inviting, and understanding they were! My son had a blast and I climbed my first 5.11 so we both left super stoked and exhausted. Next time we're in Missoula, we will definitely be returning! Thank you!

Amazing climbing gym with everything an avid climber could want. An expansive bouldering area, lots of lead and top rope and yoga classes to boot.

Our son has struggled finding a sport that he is passionate about, mind you he’s only turning 6 in March but none the less it has been hard for him. We just want him to be happy, build some strength and get out there. We discovered very recently that he loves to climb, and he’s excited about it! My husband and I couldn’t wait to find him a local place where he can explore this uncharted territory. Unfortunately we came to Freestone. Your employees did the bare minimum to help him, teach him, or god for bid, show some emotion about us being there. We’re an extremely easy going family and being in hospitality for over a decade I know we all have bad days, but this was a global vibe.We were digging for any semblance of direction, possible “tricks of the trade” or at the very least, info on birthday parties, clubs, or camps. We were unsuccessful in all endeavors. To whom this may concern, your staff needs a hype man, a pep rally, or to be equipped with, or a place they can turn to, for info for moms like myself who are willing, ready and pleased to spend our hard earned money in your establishment on our children. I hope you make a change bc we’d love to be apart of a community of climbers that our kids can look up to, learn from, and inspire “To finish their cereal, and go outside.”

I bought a birthday gift card for my son over the phone. Jacob went out of his way to be very helpful and I was happy he was familiar with my son and that he made sure my son received the gift. I'm not a climber but my son climbs here a couple times a week and he loves it. If you are looking for a place to climb in Missoula you found it here.

Wonderful facility for a town this size, and they are expanding! Lots more sending to come. The staff is always friendly and down to earth and the bathrooms are always clean. I would love to see a space to sit and chill where I can read in between climbs. Space is a little tight and nights can be super busy. but that just means they are thriving so I really can’t complain.

Absolutely love this climbing gym! Prices are fair for rentals and day pass. About five dollars cheaper without rentals and you use your own gear. The Boulder area is really fun and seems the routes get changed fairly often which is super nice. The workout gym equipment is really nice and have decent variety of equipment.

I'd give this place -5stars if it were possible. They charged my 8yr old daughter and me 200 dollars to get in and then told us we couldn't climb or get certified to climb because Carona.. mind you there was no sign or notification of any kind when taking my cash. I contacted the staff/manager/owner and was told tuff luck. This place sucks harder than Donald Trump.
