I have been making the drive into Murfreesboro from Coffee County 2-3 days per week for years so that my children can train at Bill Taylor's Bushido School of Karate. It is an excellent program run by a staff that has a heart for their students.

Our 13-year-old son started at Bill Taylor when he was in first grade. He recently earned his black belt, and has grown so much as a result of his training there. Maturity, self-discipline, focus, and respect have all been wonderful benefits alongside his karate skills. Highly recommend giving it a try!

As our son was entering school for the first time in the Fall of 2017 (at a Magnet School) he was quite shy and timid. He was not really participating in class, and seemed to lack self confidence. We were also having a bit of a problem with him being bullied by a particularly aggressive kid (not in his school) who was an acquaintance of ours.One of those instances involved him being held under water in a pool and he came up gasping for air. We were not watching as closely as we should have been, due to the fact that he had private swimming lessons just a month or so before. The "bully" kid was wearing inflatable water wings --- our child was not.Our next-door neighbor's 7-year-old daughter was a member at Bill Taylor's Bushido School and my wife and I were impressed with her demeanor and her overall athletic ability. She had no problem running the big hill on the street that we live on, while our children (and dad--me) would gasp for air after running up said hill.Our neighbor's daughter also seemed very respectful of her parents, and would generally do what she was told by her parents after just one command. Sometimes it would take us telling our son 10 times to clean his room, or eat his dinner, with threatening of punishment.We enrolled our son at Bill Taylor's Bushido School of Karate about a month after he started his very demanding school. We saw immediate results. Instead of him "struggling" a bit, his teacher was sending home notes of him being a great example to others in school. He is near the top of his class in reading, and seems to be beyond his grade level with his academics. He is doing 3rd-grade work online -- he is just in Kindergarten.He now says "yes sir" -- goes to bed on time, has more respect for adults, and seems to be more "aggressive" in sports. The little bumps don't seem to phase him in basketball, soccer, etc. He now answers questions aloud in school and does not seem timid. His self-confidence has risen dramatically in short order.I would highly recommend Mr. Taylor's school. It has literally changed our son's life.

My entire family has been overly impressed with Bill Taylor’s program. It emphasizes the importance of implementing the principles learned within the school throughout daily life. My children immediately felt comfortable and encouraged without any prior karate experience. The yearly flexible schedule coordinates with all our other activities and the school promotes a relentless pursuit of excellence in a fun filled, lighthearted environment!! We couldn’t be more pleased, thank you for all you do for these children 😁

What a wonderful school with great caring instructors. My daughter has been going for 2 years and has more confidence because of it. I think of Bill Taylor's Bushido School of Karate as an addition to her education. The things they are teaching her she will use the rest of her life. She is learning, among other things, how to stand up for herself and for those that can't.
