Without any prior boxing experience i dove into training 3x a week with Matt. Through Matt’s instruction and leadership i felt like i was learning right out of the gate and after the first class had already felt i was walking away with knowledge gained. I look forward to training every week and when the session is over i always find myself not wanting to leave. Matt will push you to the limit but not over the edge in the best ways. Being able to train outside on a beautiful morning is always a major bonus as well. My only regret is i hadn’t started training sooner!

Matt tailors stretching, strength training, and boxing technique instruction to each individual. This is apparently the way he did when he trained professional boxers when the right preparation made the difference between winning and losing and getting injured or not. He's a great personal coach, really knows boxing, has a great sense of humor and is always in a good mood.

I’m so happy I started boxing in the park with Matt! I see Matt twice a week and love how technical the sport is. Way better than going to any bag class because Matt really helps you learn proper technique. Overall Matt is awesome - you can tell he really cares about his students and has helped not just with boxing but is always there for emotional support and whatever else his students needs. He definitely pushes you to succeed and I always work up a good sweat after each session. Such a fun way to fit in some cardio and it’s a great way to get into a better head space. I highly recommend taking Matt’s class, either in the park or at his studio in the bywater.

Matt is an amazing trainer - every workout is so well tailored to your own style and needs. He’s really great at picking up on your strengths and how you best process new training techniques and changes up the workouts on the spot to help you get the most out of it! He’s also super accommodating and flexible to your schedule! I usually get really into some sort of physical activity for a couple weeks and then kind of lose motivation but I’ve been training with Matt for about five months now and I’m definitely going to continue!

Training with Matt has been a positive and empowering experience for me. Matt is passionate and knowledgable about boxing and is committed to development compatible with an individual's own pace / learning style. I appreciate Matt's focus on solid fundamental techniques, strength training, and constructive critique. Scheduling is a breeze with options to meet in Audubon park or a studio space on St. Claude. Matt is an intuitive and engaging person to work with, and always inspires me to improve.

Boxing in the Park with Matt is great! He is great at communicating and he can always accommodate. He is very knowledgeable about boxing and does a great job coaching and I have really learned a lot. I am a collegiate athlete and he has worked with me to not only improve as a boxer, but also an athlete. It is great exercise and he makes it all more fun by his great attitude and personality. Definitely give it a try!

This has been such a great experience for my son. Matt is not just a knowledgeable, patient and thoughtful trainer. He’s a teacher, mentor, and coach who tailors each lesson personally. His lessons are engaging while providing discipline, focus, and most importantly fun for my son. Matt finds the perfect balance! I highly recommend.

Working out with Matt was an awesome experience for me. Matt really does it all. Matt is a great boxing coach who will teach you real technique while giving you an awesome workout. He is also very flexible, and will build a workout that will help you reach your specific goals whether that be strength building, losing weight, or becoming the best fighter you can be. I would also encourage you to take full advantage of Matt's nutritional knowledge. He taught me so much about how to eat for the body you want, and he helped me form habits that have kept me in great shape. Audubon Park is a beautiful place to train, and you couldn't ask for a more supportive and knowledgable trainer to work with.

Boxing in the Park with Matt is an excellent way to get or stay in shape! Not only do you get to revel in the beauty of Audubon Park, but you also get the privilege of working out with Matt himself. Matt is accommodating, yet challenging at the same time - the perfect combo. He’ll work with you to help achieve your goals, whether they are more fitness related or more technical. I’ve been boxing for a little under a year before and love training with Matt because his attention to detail ensures that my technique is improving and that I am not reinforcing bad habits that had gone unchecked in large class settings. I highly recommend Boxing in the Park!
