Just returned from a NC mountain yoga retreat. Beth thoughtfully guided us in a movement practice reflective of the space; the weekend was a blend of introspection and outdoors. Equal parts community, beauty and stillness.

I just returned from a Mountain Yoga Retreat that Beth carefully planned. She really attended to every detail that not only allowed us to experience a restorative location while enjoying a yoga-centric fellowship, but there was also - and just as important - room to breathe. Beth's presence was not just as guide/leader, but also fellow practitioner and FRIEND. She gives from way deep down and her events show it. This yoga retreat was the first at the Tryon location, and she admitted to some nervousness about the offering. But the Tryon house was perfect! It's an old house, with old bones. All the guests however were immediately on board with what the house came to be - incredible character, smells, sounds, a bit of community living, space to spread out and BE. Beth's yoga retreat leaves you feeling different and better - in ways that show up days after you've returned to the real world. I whole-heartedly recommend any of Beth's retreats to do some good for yourself, and make meaningful connections with new friends along the way.

I just returned from a mountain yoga retreat with Beth Cosi and it was WONDERFUL- the most wonderfulest. Beth thinks of everything to make her guests comfortable. Her pre-retreat communication really helped me to feel confident that I knew what to expect and I knew how to get there. She also uses the pre-retreat communication as a way to begin to make COMMUNITY and I love that. She also carefully gets to know each of her guests and goes out of her way to make them comfortable and feel uniquely welcomed. She sets an agenda at the beginning of the yoga retreat but she feels out the group and makes changes to accommodate what the group needs- rather than rigidly following the schedule. As an example, on the first morning almost everyone slept a bit later than they intended- the first morning after a day of travel can be that way. I rushed to get ready for the yoga class and someone said to me- 'Beth is going to let us miss a yoga class' and they were right. For the most part, we did not really know each other before the yoga retreat but Beth had a way of bringing us all together in a supportive way. There is some magic juju she does that makes people cooperate with each other and not be competitive.Another great thing about the way Beth Cosi puts together a mountain yoga retreat is the yoga itself. She teaches hatha flow and yin always with a focus on body work. She emphasizes the importance of listening to your body and paying attention to the fascial connections to maximize strength and agility. Oh and of course- breath work. Now take a breath, hold it at the top, and let it out- pay attention to your exhale- make it longer.Finally- the MOUNTAINS make a great backdrop for a Mountain Yoga Retreat. We got out and into those mountains with a wonderful guide she brought with us- Todd Roy of themountainwanderer.org I can't wait to go on another Mountain Yoga Retreat with Beth Cosi Yoga!!
