Nick is an amazing trainer with an uncanny ability to make approaches to fitness sustainable, fun, and positive. In the span of six months, I have been more consistent in my showing up for myself through workouts than I ever have in my life. The longest span I've gone consistently was 4 months. I'm so glad to have Nick as a trainer. My health and wellness has never been better and my mindset has also made gains!

I have been training with Nick for the last couple of months, and I wish I had started training with him sooner. Life changing! I’ve made so many gains not just physically but also mentally. Not only has my BF% been steadily decreasing and hitting lifetime PRs, but more importantly, I am addicted to working hard and having fun at the same time. What’s more, I get structured coaching, focused attention on form, personalized programming, precise feedback, answers to my many questions, and a heck of a lot of support. I’ll be bummed that I can’t continue training with Nick when I move back to the East Coast, but it was always our goal that I build a solid foundation so that I can continue on my fitness journey beyond my training with him. I am deeply indebted to him and hope I can find a trainer with a similar background, philosophy, and training style. I highly recommend Nick and his team for personal training. It’s truly an investment in yourself, and future you will thank you.

Nick is such a standout trainer, we’re lucky to have him located so conveniently in downtown Oakland. After training with Nick for several months now, what I appreciate the most is his genuine excitement and contagious energy in seeing his clients grow and reach their goals. My program includes training with Nick, Tim and PT sessions. Nick is spearheading a specialized program integrating injury healing/prevention, strength training, and curating exercises that support massive leaps from the start of working together to only 3 months into training. He’s a down to earth trainer (not a lot of those around) who authentically cares about your wellness. He’s dedicated to supporting my program while at the gym, and checking in to see how progress is going between sessions. I’m super stoked to go to training!! If you’re looking for a trainer, Nick is top shelf.

I’ve been working out with Nick for about 8 months and I just cannot recommend him enough. I am in awe of the fitness progress I’ve made with his help — I was pretty out of shape and recovering from an injury when we started, and he helped me recover faster, train to avoid re-injuring myself, and got me to a level of strength and fitness I’ve never had before.Nick certainly knows the ins and outs of training and physiology but the thing that makes me look forward to our workouts every week is his friendliness, his enthusiasm, and how he genuinely cares about me as a whole person, not just my fitness; Nick never makes you feel bad for missing a week, or for being under the weather, or for not being up for something in a workout. His positivity and his supportiveness are what makes Nick a truly great partner in achieving my fitness goals!

I can’t recommend Nick enough! My fitness isn’t something that comes easy to me. I wasn’t the kid who was picking up a football and tossing it around with my dad. As I grow in my body I have always struggled with fitness, movement, and growth. I started working out with Nick about 6 months ago and my attitude towards training and fitness has been transformed. Nick has been such an amazing inspiration for me to achieve my fitness goals as well as my life goals. He’s helped me realize the connection between my personal and professional life. I look forward to each and every training session together regardless of how hard the work is. In fact I look forward to the hard work now - where I haven't before. His excitement and energy is contagious. I’ve worked out with other trainers and what I like about his approach is that we’re always doing something new. He’s finding different ways for me to achieve my fitness goals rather than repeating the same exercises. Whether I’m maxing out my pushups with someone on my back or pulling someone around the gym on a sled it’s always different – and often times fun! I'm stronger than I've been before, and definitely seeing the physical results. Looking forward to what I can achieve next!

Nick at NuFitness was my trainer for 5 months and I had a great experience, 5 stars, I highly recommend. As things opened up from the pandemic it was hard for me to get back into an active lifestyle but Nick put together a program that set me up for success.I would say Nick’s training style is best suited for people who want to achieve greater performance and wellness that is sustainable, versus aggressive lift goals, though I’m sure he can do that too. His philosophies are more about building a mind-muscle connection and ensuring the right muscles are properly engaged before lifting heavy. Perfect for me in my fitness journey.Nick trains most of his clients at Truve in Oakland. It’s a small gym that provides TRX, free weights, squat racks, stationary bikes, benches, etc. The locker rooms provide towels and showers, and you get free secure parking behind with your sessions. If you’re looking for highly specialized equipment, there are bigger gyms with more variety but at Truve all of the basics for a great workout are covered.Nick has done an amazing job building a fitness community amongst his clients, which further reinforced adopting an active lifestyle. Nick plans bike rides, hikes, slack lining, Spartan races, etc. for all of the NuFitness clients so you get the chance to meet new people and participate in weekend activities rather than defaulting to couch potato activity. I found this reinforced my fitness progress and helped me see my results in the real world.In summary, I was able to achieve my goals to do pull ups, hand stands, and squat my body weight in 5 months through Nick’s program and training philosophies. I highly recommend NuFitness for other people who have wellness goals and want to achieve a more active lifestyle to supplement work from home or post pandemic habits.

Nu fitness has been super helpful for my fitness goals. I’m a yoga instructor, cyclist, and runner, and sought out personal training as a way to even out imbalances from years of activity and some major injuries (as well as some bad habits). Tim is my trainer, and has been SUPER HELPFUL in this process. He built me a very tactful program targeting my goals, and my yoga practice & other areas of activity improved well beyond expectations. Within just a month of training I noticed significant strength gained in my shoulders which really helped in improving my yoga inversions (finally got a fore-arm stand, yeah!)Aside from helping me achieve my fitness goals, Tim has been so welcoming, friendly, and nonjudgemental that I’ve felt really comfortable in our sessions. He’s made strength training very approachable, which I had always felt intimidated from in the past. 10/10 would recommend!

Nick is the best personal trainer I could ever asked for! My husband and I met Nick around August 2021 and he made us feel so comfortable from our very first session. Nick took time to learn about our fitness goals, taught us many different exercises, and even sent us work-out videos to do at home (on days when we don't meet.) At that time, we hadn't worked out in a long time thus we were a bit nervous to start; but Nick made sure to customize a program for us to follow and built ourselves up over time. Also, Be ready to have a lot of fun! His positive energy and smiles are really contagious.

Nick.is super knowledgeable, friendly and really enjoys helping people. He has helped me add things to my routine that have been hugely beneficial. I regularly do bootcamp workouts with him as well as HIIT classes and other mobility and Strength training. He is definitely more like a fitness professional than a gym shark and you will feel at ease no matter what level you are. Meaning great non-judgemental energy
