It was fine in December but recently it has been so busy it’s unusable, even in closing hour. Only 3 squat racks that people hog for up to an hour. Weights room is small and plenty of under-utilised space (lots of rooms closed off for classes they want to charge $35 a session for).

Updating my prior review:This place is awesome! Spacious, not too crowded, all of the necessary equipment and super friendly staff. It’s honestly a really great gym, and they don’t lock you into a bogus long-term contract which is a huge benefit. In order to get 5 stars though they need to:1) Add labels to the kettlebells, as many are hard to read.2) Put a towel holder near the steam room. There’s no place to put your fresh towel while you steam, so everyone stacks them on top of the nearby showers.3) Put towel bins near lockers. The bins should be where people change.4) Glass shower doors, or weights at bottom of curtains. The curtains always blow up onto your body and it’s gross. Many people have now resorted to showering with no curtain closed5) Refrigerated eucalyptus hand towels6) Eucalyptus spray in the steam room7) Free coffee in the morning8) Have the water fountain on the 2nd floor in the weight room not static shock you. Every time I go for a drink I get shocked9) Complete the renovation on the hot tub. It’s been over a yearWhat I took off the previous list:1) New kettlebells, all the same brand2) Fit3d door always unlocked3) Ab roller wheels4) Larger towels (they just got new ones that are amazing)

Good facilities, terrible service, thieves in the locker rooms!!!There are not that many gyms around Oakland that have this combination of facilities like a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, different group classes and a weight room. So my husband and I decided to join this gym and initially I was excited to join it but got disappointed very quickly. The second week after I joined the gym, my wallet was stolen from the locked locker. Unfortunately, I had a lot of cash in the wallet. The thief spent money from my cards. It took me a few months to dispute the fraud transactions from one of my cards. And I could never get money back from another card. I also had to go to DMV to get a new driver’s license. The gym staff didn’t investigate the incident, but they covered 3 months of my dues. This was still less than the amount that was stolen my wallet. They made some adjustment in my account to suspend the charges for 3 months and that created some negative balance so every time I entered the gym they would stop me and ask questions as if I owe them something. It was annoying until they fixed it.Later on I decided to buy a Pilates package through their app. It turns out that they charged me almost 4 times more the actual price. Thanks to the Pilates instructor who told me that it was an incorrect amount otherwise I wouldn’t know that they basically stole my money by charging me 4xPrice.Starting from January, they started charging us more than usual because they raised the monthly dues even though I thought my husband and I got an annual contract. We were not told clearly when we signed the contract that only I would be under the contract, and my husband wouldn’t be.A couple of days ago, there was a woman in the locker room who seemed to be homeless, who was hanging out in the locker room with a carryon and was trying to take a nap on the benches were people usually change. I noticed her sitting in the locker room when I just came and when I was leaving she was trying to take a nap. I notified the front desk about the woman who was taking a nap in locker room, but they just laughed back at me.

As a gym, it’s a little lacking. There’s too little equipment for the price point. Squat racks are always busy, and people camp out in them. It’s hard to get a lift in on time. Most of the machines are precor, which are cheaper and not as well designed as the hammer strength or life fitness machines you can get at much cheaper gyms. However, there are a ton of classes, if that’s your thing, and the facility is huge. It’s is very clean and well kept, the staff is friendly, the location is awesome if you live downtown.

I had the chance to check out The Club at City Center recently, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. The first thing that struck me was how meticulously clean and well-kept the place was. You could tell that the staff took pride in keeping everything in tip-top shape.Moving on to the facilities themselves, they were just out of this world. There was such an incredible array of equipment available, from the latest and greatest machines to an abundance of free weights. And there was so much space to move around - I never once felt cramped or crowded. And don't even get me started on the ample room for stretching and floor exercises. But the real kicker was the new golf simulator. As a self-professed golf aficionado, I was over the moon when I heard they had one. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It was like being transported to a different world - the graphics were so lifelike, it was almost hard to believe I wasn't really out on the course. All in all, I can't recommend The Club at City Center highly enough. The spotless facilities, unbelievable selection of equipment, and cutting-edge features like the golf simulator make it truly stand out. If you're in the market for a top-tier gym, this is the place to be.

Excellent gym for a work out, BUT- a few things to note: jacuzzi out of service indefinitely. Music is horrible. Lastly, on weekends they close early.Pluses are: great facility with much to do/use. Steam room clean. Shower water pressure superb. And JOE, the salesman is PRO.

The facilities here are nice but I have some constructive criticism. Gym closes at 9pm on weekdays and 3pm on Sundays. That’s too early, and even if you come in at 8pm the staff announce closing every 15 minutes between 8 to 9 on the loud speaker, which feels excessive.Further, the gym regularly gets crowded these days, something that is made worse by letting in non-paying guests. This could be alleviated by opening up the TRX room which has equipment but is locked unless you pay for a class.

The only place where the staff are genuinely happy to greet you and always keeping the club in shape for us. Members are friendly and professional love this place!

The facility overall is very nice, large space with modern vibe. The staff is professional and welcoming. A variety of activities for all adult ages and levels. After a great workout, the shower pressure is A+. I would give a 5/5 if the music played outside of classes, in the shower area, the lobby, etc., was perhaps more calming like jazz. The hip hop vibe, the lyrics to some of the music can be at minimum anxiety provoking and disrespectful. There are so many genres that could be included in the music choices.
